How many times, throughout the day are we offered a fattening snack by customers and sometimes strangers. Although its tempting to say yes, to that cookie, doughnut, muffin, pizza, hot dog, hamburger and that cold can of soda, for the good of my health. I'll keep saying no thanks.

When delivering to KFC, Burger King, Mcdonalds and every other fast food place, if you have a good standing with them, they try to stuff food down your pie hole. We could easily put on some serious lbs. if we ate everything offered to us.

I have to admit, the 7-11 on my route gives me free coffee and my policy on this is never turn down a free cup of java.:bbq::bbq:

Yep. Besides good, free is best.

Had a McDonald's on my route where the manager would never let me pay. I happened to be there right around my lunch time every day would eat there 3 or more days a week for about 4 years. Ended up putting on about 10 lbs during that time, but you can imagine how much worse it would be if I didn't have a calorie-burning job. I don't even want to think about what my cholesterol is. Love dem cheezburgers!

I am beginning to understand the situation that we are put in on a daily basis. I just had a cholesterol panel done. Not good results. Not to bad either, but I will have to make changes in my diet habits if I want to stay off meds. :dissapointed:

Yes,
I had the same .My doctor said the same thing . Loose some weight and change my diet, or else I'll be on meds for along time to come !!!!

I had lots of restaurants on my old route. My two favorites were a family owned Italian joint and a Gino's east pizzeria. I ate there free most of the time and heavily discounted the rest of the time.

I always have people that offer me soda. I get great puzzled looks from people who don't understand the cooncept of, "Sorry, I don't drink soda."

While I was working, my metabolism and the exercise on the job were enough to keep my weight the same. I took all the "freebies" that people offered. Of course now that I'm retired, I have to watch what eat.
It used to aggravate me on Christmas Eve when some people had these huge spreads with all kinds of food and they would offer me a beer or mixed drink. Of course I had to turn down the alcohol, but then some of them said, "oh right-you're driving" and then didn't offer food!

Before 2000 Starbucks headquarters used to give us free coupons and allow us to use their expresso machine.

Every freaking office I deliver to has a candy dish or a plate of cookies or doughnuts, and I simply lack the will power to do the right thing and say no. And to make matters worse, I have a Wendys, a Taco Bell, a McDonalds, a Dairy Queen and a Taco Time on my route.

Dammit, I like food. I dont smoke or use tobacco, I dont do drugs, I dont drink alcohol or gamble or look at porn. Food and coffee are my only vices.

Brownmonster. Can you indulge me with more details(if you will) with the open house food. Did you walk in to the house while it was taking place? What is a sumer sausage sandwich? That is a lot of food. Did you order a cardiologist on the side?

You got to love free, right. If its free its for me, give me three of them.

Life is a Highway...
When I first started with UPS, my route included "Chinatown" which every town in the U.S. has one. I had to stop taking freebees cause I was literally packing on the pounds. As these restaurants prepped the food for the lunch and dinner crowd, they would point at the buffet line and ask what do you want? Plus they would give me a large soda.

Thank God I don't have that route, I would've looked like Jabba the Hut before too long.

Had to wait one morning for the manager at a Krispy Kreme to tape up a call tag pkg. When he came out he had the pkg on top of two boxes of donuts. As I walked out Im thinking what am I going to do with 24 warm gooey donuts? So I hnded them out at my stops as I went along. My wife was mad because I didnt save any for her.I only ate 1 or 6 cant really remember.
