Multi billion/trillion (?) dollar industry for the drug and medical business. No way would they ever cure it no matter how many billions people donate to fight it. They have had a few successes with certain kinds of cancer (you HAVE to give people hope to keep the donation coming in) but all in all I don't think they are anymore on top of it now than they were 25 years ago.

People are scared of socialized medicine but OK with this.

If there was Socialized Medicine in the USA, no one would get this medicine through 'Medicare for All'.
It never would have been developed.

I first remember 'pancreatic cancer' when it killed Michael Landon.

Stage 4 of that type seems to be a death sentence....he seems to have a good attitude (only he knows what's going on inside)

I had forgotten that's what got Little Joe.

But if no one can afford it what difference does it make? What you're seeing now is that when a pharma develops a new drug they pile up as many patents on that particular drug as they can get on them thereby extending the life of their own version so they can keep the generic versions of them off the market for decades.

My sister-in-law is fighting internal (very rare) melanoma. The outlook isn't good. They have her on experimental meds that have never been given to humans before.

I hope that medicine is a modern day miracle drug, and she's able to pull through, or at least change that outlook for the positive.

One thing we can all agree on, on this site, is that cancer sucks. cancer.
