Funny, A big part of the 97 strike was over Part time jobs. It still is a big issue.
I was getting my diad yesturday and overheard a Manager-driver conversation on how he has all this time between stops. Driver states he dealing with bad loa quality and is sorting for pieces.
Manager suggests he come in early, off the clock and sort out his truck to get better ####'s. Driver says NO WAY.I'm proad of that guy.
The ##'s are pressuring guys to come in early work off the clock, Sort and work during breaks and lunches, and even clocking out at air dock before they pull off air and so working off clock while pulling off air, pulling off hazmats, unloading smalls, and unloading exception 3's.
This is bullcrap. All this time off the clock. All this part time seasonal work. I think we need to strengthing the union and I think we need change.
Cali won the lunch issue without the union. Why are Drivers on the east cost not fighting this as well????
The #'s pn time allowance alone can b used against them cause it's showing that they want us doing all this off the clock to meet the ####'s. There own allowance records can be used against them.
Get your heads out of that good top pay rate and don't settle till these other issues are CORRECTED!!!!!!!!!
What do I know. I'm just a part timer doing full time when contract allowes it. We need drivers to stand up against this. We are not lazy slackers and we work our butt off.
This #####'s push completly pushes against and contradicts the methodes of SAFETY!!!
SAFETY, QUAILITY, and GOOD SURVICE should Be priority and that call for better time allowance, better load quality, and better dispatch.
