using your seniority to not work

That doesn't fly here. They are instructed to put it in. All call-ins use days if they're available.
But going home after showing up doesn't. Especially since I usually get a few minutes of clock time. So, it counts as me being there, and keeps my days intact.
So you are giving up contracted guaranteed time?

Going home under guaranteed time is the same thing. Previous union members fought hard for that guaranteed.
It's not the same thing. I don't work off the clock.

I'm guaranteed 3.5 hours.

I like to work about 0.035 hours.
When it's light, I get to do that. I'm exercising a contractual right. The contract gives me the right to choose whether to work.

Yep, scab behavior. It weakens the union.
If you want me to be required to work my guarantee, put it in the contract.
All you have to do is change guaranteed hours to minimum required hours.

Until then, you can take a chill pill.
I'm exercising a right that the union created. That's not anti-union.

One thing this forum puts in perspective is some hubs are pulling 60+ hour weeks and forced 6 days and other hubs are begging guys to go home and work 3 days a week.
