Because you have to read the studies! That's what the experts do. First "study" quoted by tRump started with 24 patients. They excluded 8 that went to ICU, 1 died and 1 had a reaction to the malaria drug.

You do understand that 14 getting better while 10 did not is not a positive study and proves nothing right?

Just saw that a doctor who has the largest lupus practice in the U.S., works out of the famous Mt. Cedar Sinai hospital, wrote to the FDA that he has prescribed hydroxychloroquine for decades for usage other than for malaria. Said it's extremely safe, at most in a small percentage may cause a rash or stomach upset. Has worked well since it's release in 1955. Maybe you should talk to him.

Not worried about the people who got mild cases of Covid-19. Those who get a severe case of it have a much greater chance than 5% of dying. Those who survive a severe case also in many instances are coming out with permanent impairments of the heart and lungs. So if a drug looks promising do you deny access because you don't want any credit going to Trump? Well?

No. Because only 2%-10.5% of the overall total of infected by age group actually end up in a hospital ICU and are candidates for hydroxychloroquine use. And it sounds like among that much smaller group of severe cases, those who have been given the drug as they began their final descent toward death made convincing recoveries.

I know it’s hard to let Trump have a W over this. He’s an idiot and a terrible person. But we shouldn’t let that get in the way of trying anything that might help patients who would otherwise only have a ventilator and a much higher chance of death to fall back on.
