Would you take a "Lump Sum" offer?

"Looks solid"....not sure what that means. Pretty subjective.

And 25 years.....I can't imagine UPS even being here let alone a pension.
In 25 years package cars will have the Amazon blue pecker on the sides of them.

I took the early lump sum when I parted ways with Express. The amount wasn't huge and the monthly payments I would have received about 30 years from then didn't warrant waiting. Instead, I paid off my home, did some renovations, put a hefty down payment on a new car and paid any debt I had. I did this with the knowledge of knowing I was beginning my career at UPS, so money wouldn't be an issue going forward.

There are some on here who have nearly collected 3/4 to a million dollars thru the pension system. Most only
paid in a fraction of that in to the system. Wonder what a buy out number would have been?
$828,000. And still alive. I don't want no stinking lump sum. I'm gonna live till I am one hundred.

I used to think a million would make me happy… now that I’m about halfway there, one and a half million will make me feel more like I won when they lay me down to rest.
