True ‘horsepower’ pulls UPS truck out of snow – AG Daily

For many of us, the pure power of a horse can leave us speechless. Unless you work with these powerful creatures on the daily, you many not realize the strength that they hold — let alone a team of horses. In this video, Working Horses With Jim shows us exactly how strong his working horses can be. When the UPS man had slid off the road into a small ditch, Jim and his horses jumped into action to pull him out with true “horsepower”. Jim used his Percheron draft horses to pull out the UPS driver in a neighbors driveway.

Caught on Camera: Delivery drivers lauded for acts of kindness – Fox 4

A FedEx and UPS driver both helped out two elderly people while they were out delivering this week, but neither driver knew their acts of kindness were caught on camera.

A Fox 2 viewer sent in a photo of a UPS Driver pushing a man in a powered wheelchair on the sidewalk this week. We posted it on Facebook and asked if the community could help us identify the kind UPS driver. FOX2’s viewers did more than that, they helped find the driver and shared another photo of a FedEx driver performing another kind act.

“I just did what any other person would do,” UPS Driver Patricia Hall-Hill said.

Company lauds Biden plan but opposes higher corporate taxes

Sandy Springs-based UPS said Thursday it opposes a proposed hike in corporate tax rates to pay for President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan.

Biden last week outlined a $2.3 trillion plan to build up the nation’s infrastructure over the next eight years, for everything from roads, bridges, public transit, electric vehicle charging stations to upgrading sewers, broadband Internet and the power grid.

To help pay for it, Biden proposed increasing the U.S. corporate tax rate to 28% from 21%. The tax rate on corporate profits was cut to 21% from 35% through the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 under then-President Donald Trump.

Customs officials seize more than $2M in meth, bound for Hong Kong, at UPS Worldport – WDRB

Customs officials on Tuesday confiscated 243 pounds of meth at UPS Worldport Louisville.

The shipment, which came from Mexico and was headed to Hong Kong, was hidden in rugs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said.

“This is a huge seizure that began with FWS and ended with our officers finding these packets of methamphetamine,” Thomas Mahn, Port Director-Louisville, said in a news release. “The men and women at the Port of Louisville are committed to stopping the flow of dangerous drugs, and they continue to use their training, intuition, and strategic skills to prevent these kinds of illegitimate shipments from reaching the public.”
