Abigail Adams Middle School Student Develops Unexpected Friendship with UPS Driver – JGPR

Abigail Adams Middle School sixth-grader Lucas Botel has developed an unexpected friendship with a UPS worker.

Since the beginning of this school year, UPS delivery driver Matt Walsh has been making deliveries to the Abigail Adams Middle School. During his deliveries, Walsh noticed sixth-grader Lucas standing in the window of a classroom waving to him.

Lucas, who’s in the Communication Enhancement Program, is a high-needs student with deficits in the areas of communication and behavior. Within the Communication Enhancement Program, Special Needs Teacher Nicole Ruprecht assists Lucas with the strategies he needs to be successful.

Pfizer Begins Shipping COVID-19 Vaccines – Sunday TODAY

The first coronavirus vaccine doses in the United States are heading out of a Pfizer manufacturing facility in Michigan. The initial shipments are expected to be delivered to more than 600 hospitals and clinics by Wednesday. NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez reports for Sunday TODAY.

Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccines Begin Shipping – Morningstar

Pfizer Inc. has begun shipping its Covid-19 vaccine, dispatching trucks from a Michigan plant carrying the shots to health departments and hospitals gearing up to deliver the injections against a surging pandemic.

Trucks from United Parcel Service Inc. and FedEx Corp. rolled out of Pfizer’s Kalamazoo, Mich., plant bound for central distribution centers and headed toward 145 health departments and hospitals around the U.S., a Pfizer spokeswoman said.

The trucks were carrying more than 500,000 doses of the vaccine, which must be kept at -94 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pfizer’s and BioNTech’s vaccine, approved through a U.S. Food and Drug Administration emergency use authorization (EUA), is the first to be deployed in a months-long global race to develop safe vaccines to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Greenville UPS driver gives young boy uniform, asks for his help during the busy holiday season – WYFF

A Greenville UPS driver needed some help during this busy holiday season and he knew the exact boy for the job.

Charles Smith has been delivering in little Jack’s neighborhood for years.

He recently left Jack a UPS uniform and a letter requesting his “help” for the holiday season.

“I need for him (Jack) to bring the package in the house after I have made the delivery,” the letter said. “This will help me a lot.”
