Bank draft goes missing and TD Canada Trust is in no rush to issue new one

An Ontario family is locked in a lengthy, three-way David vs. Goliaths battle after courier company UPS lost a bank draft worth more than $846,000 and TD Canada Trust — the bank that issued it — appears to be in no rush to issue a new one.

Brown shrinks down: UPS to deploy golf cart delivery in Golden – Denver Post

Unique pilot project will put UPS golf carts on city streets until Dec. 31

Residents of Golden soon will see United Parcel Service drivers delivering packages via golf cart instead of the big brown trucks the company is known for, providing some neighborhoods in the city needed relief from the crush of delivery vehicles that are ubiquitous in an age of heavy online shopping.

The City Council on Thursday night approved a resolution that will allow the UPS golf carts — with trailers attached — to roll through certain neighborhoods through the end of the year as part of a pilot project, possibly the first of its kind in Colorado.

UPS sees some delivery delays after surge in online holiday orders – Reuters

United Parcel Service said on Tuesday some deliveries were being delayed because of a surge in holiday online shopping orders during the peak shipping period.

Atlanta-based UPS, which has made major investments to upgrade and expand its facilities, said it shifted more employees and other resources to certain markets in its network and expected to have the issue resolved by midweek.

“As a result of unprecedented shipping volumes in certain markets during cyber week, UPS has added one- or two-day time-in-transit on some deliveries,” the company said in a statement.
