But why would they do that. There is no way there is enough driving work to keep that many 22.4s driving 40 hours a week outside of peak. They are not going to put themselves in a situation where they have to work 22.4s inside with guarantee and higher pay than pters. That could change when Sunday delivery starts, but until then it wouldn’t make sense to have that many 22.4s

How many guaranteed RPCD positions do you have in your building. Do you know the exact number? As current RPCDs leave the company could replace them with 22.4s as long as they do not drop below the guaranteed # of RPCDs.

Not sure of the exact number, but somewhere around 300. I was under the impression that existing rpcd jobs could not be staffed by 22.4 classification. The number 1 concern during negotiation of the contract was rpcd jobs turning into 22.4s. isn’t it in the master that all rpcd jobs as of August 1 had to stay rpcd?

Only the guaranteed protect jobs can not be replaced by 22.4s. So any drivers that were driving T-S are not protected and as RPCDs leave they can be replaced by 22.4s. Just as long as they do not drop below the projected # or over the 25% of 22.4s.
