AMMUNATION

The hotel policy of "banning" weapons.... really didn't work.

The signs must have not been big enough.

"Weapons of any type (guns, knives, nightsticks, mace, pepper spray, stun guns etc.) are strictly prohibited on Mandalay Bay property. Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies may carry weapons on Mandalay Bay property in the performance of their official duties. These agencies must contact Mandalay Bay Security Management prior to arriving on property."

Did the Swat Team properly ask for permission ?
We also have a sign at work prohibiting weapons of any kind.

Hope those signs work....

Translation: Those assault weapons are only meant to murder people abroad. (See: Blackwater in Nisour Square, Iraq)

I did not carry an assault weapon around a foreign country so I could come home and see them used to massacre my countrymen.
Do be fair, assault weapons generally are illegal. What the shooter used in Vegas is 100% legal. Nothing illegal for children to play GI Joe with bump stocks. Unfortunately, these adult toys are too easily obtained.

May as well argue citizens should be able to purchase anti-aircraft weapons as well for when the black helicopters come.

You are legally to allowed to own what the ATF defines as "destructive devices".

It just depends on how much money you have to spend....

and are willing to jump through all the hoops.

There are exactly 182,619 legal and transferable (among civilians) machine-guns

in the NFA registry. There are 2 other categories that include "Pre May 1986

Dealer samples" (which civilians can't own) and "Post May 1986 Dealer samples"

that are only available to law enforcement and military.

If you want to do the paperwork (and pay the tax) civilians can still purchase

and own suppressors, short barrel shotguns, short barrel rifles, etc.

Being arrested and convicted of possessing unregistered items....

results in mandatory federal prison time and fines of $250,000.00.

Virtually no cases of legally registered automatic weapons used in any crime. Maybe a couple since the law was passed in 1934. And I think they involved police officers so laws for civilians wouldn't have applied.
