I know about HIPPA, we didn't want to know who but they wouldn't even discuss or even admit someone had tested positive. I understand not saying who got it, but you won't even let your employees be aware that at least 3 people have it and who knows how many they have been in close contact with? That way their awareness and alert would be up higher. There's a lot of guys with families, little kids, parents with cancer, grandparents etc that if they had it unknowingly and gave it to them, would kill them.
Assume you have it, will get it. In the coming weeks/months in parts of this country people will die because someone with better odds of survival will take their icu bed. Maybe they will die because the staff is overworked or sick. If you work at UPS stay away from anyone you love that's at a higher risk. Too many selfish people don't account for the 20yr old part-timer living with their grandparents or the wife at home who's a Cancer surviver. This get it done, man up attitude is not even responsible if you live alone, healthy and young. You can still infect others and not even know it.

You guys are dumb. No one knows what this virus entails and what do to about it. UPS is in the same :censored2:show the rest of the nation is- you do realize there is no master plan. Hand sanitizer, masks and gloves are in scarce supply because we are unprepared as a nation. The best you can do is take care of you. *

UPS had the chance to be proactive about this back in December and January, but like we always do, lets stick our head in the sand until it blows up in our face. And then we can't figure out what when wrong and why it turned out so bad...

You’re picking up and spreading the same germs as you would with your hands. If you don’t touch your face with bare hands and it’s pretty much equal. Unless you have cuts on your hands

Yes, I spread them the same to other people as I would without gloves.

But I don't spread them the same to myself. And that's why I wear them.

They don't help others. But they do help me.

And we all will have small cuts on our hands all the time.

If you're one of those people handling boxes, anyway.

We had a sleeper team driver get sick last Sunday night. They sent him for a test Monday. Results came back yesterday. Positive. Being a sleeper driver is better than a regular driver since he has had less contact with other employees, but still exposed quite a few people. They had to consult a company nurse to see how to handle it. The other driver in the team, plus the driver who covered the sick one gets a week off with pay, since they have been symptom free this whole week. Tractor gets quarantined till it can be disenfected. The sick driver's wife also tested positive. I'm curious to see how transparent management will be on this. Remember, this is a company who covers up the logo when a vehicle has been in an accident.

So, I guess we just keep sending out more teams? I'm in that group. Not very many folks want to cover or bid my run. Will they eventually force from the bottom? Force people into lockdown zones? And this paid 2 weeks, then what?
