What's the difference between a scheduled day off and a lay off? Is one more favorable?
Scheduled off means you were never scheduled to work, layoff means there were too many drivers and someone got laid off for the day. I have been told it affects benefits in some way, but nobody has ever been able to tell me how.

Our center uses scheduled off when a driver is sent home either by choice or if there is no work for him/her.

We have been told not to do that, it is layoff for either of those. Scheduled off is only for say a weekend day or there is agreement prior to the current operating day that the employee will take the day off without pay.

Lol all of these days I take off are "scheduled off" at least that's how management codes it.

Can anyone help me out with day off codes? Each day in my center people call in to get days off due to cut routes, etc...favortism is being played by one supervisor in particular. He will give layoff days to lower seniority guys over higher seniority guys. I need to prove this by showing they are not being coded sick days. Do you know the codes? I know they use 25, 26, and a few others. Thanks
The codes I use most often are
25- personal option day
26- schedule day off
27- paid sick day
39- Option Day
38- Option week
47- Non paid sick day
23- No call No Show
16- Cleared
15- Called in
29- Prepaid vacation
Seniority has nothing to do with scheduled days off unless you are picking vacations. In our center we allow 2 a week on vacation.

If I had a day scheduled as off, why does my pay stub say Layoff? I was scheduled off for 2 days and wanted an option days used. They used the option day for the second scheduled off day but the first says layoff so my check is shorted 8 hours.

I no-called no-showed today and I'm coded as "Layoff" on time-card viewer.
Why did they do this? Are they trying to cut me a break? Or does it mean something I don't realize?
Also does this mean I can do it again tomorrow?
