Do dog treats work?

I had a German Shepherd come after me once when it managed to knock his gate open. Giant thing. As it was barking and growling at me and moving closer, I was backing away, pretty scared. I ended up yelling "sit!", and the damn thing sat, still barking and growling. Got to my pc just as the owner came to see what the commotion was. She was scared for me, asked if I was ok. Told her I was fine, just needed a new pair of underpants.
You just gave me a flashback.
First time delivery to this home and was in the days where every pkg had to be signed for on paper.
A really, really bad ass 100lb dog started to attack me.
I jumped into my pkg car slammed the door shut and started blowing my horn.
The owner came out and and said something to the dog and it went in to a slow, arthritic painful walk away.
He apologized, then he told me the secret and made me promise not to ever tell anyone.
He signed a fistful of SDN's. (old school pre- DIAD)
This was 30 years ago, so I can break that promise now.
The dog was a special breed trained to be used by police, or the military.
50% Rottweiler, and 50% German Shepard.
All you had to say was, "I am going to kill you".
Next delivery, he started the attack and I said those words.
Actually I felt bad, because that dog had a hard time walking away from me.
I could not have made him walk that way with a baseball bat.
I tried to make friends with him by offering treats, but he would not come closer that 30ft.
Just an old man talking about the "ole" days.

Learn something new every day.
I thought a non-delivered package was grounds for a write up?

After you sheet it NI1 move the cursor right and type in dog. If the owner calls and complains your Supe should see it and know the situation immediately.

Now, if you just don’t want to go up a long driveway or whatever and don’t deliver it then you have an issue.

Heres a little common sense for you put your foot against the door so you control when it opens
Burr, 99% of all outside home doors open to the inside.
You would have to be inside to use your foot as a doorstop.
Not all homes have the extra cheap ass plate glass/ storm/screen door that opens outward.
That being said, I have had dogs charge and break through the cheap plate glass/screen door and my foot was applied to the dog, not the door.
My common sense tells me you have never had that knowledge of how doors work, or experience.

He is certainly putting a lot of effort into it considering he will not be working at UPS in a few weeks.
Report me. Get me kicked off. Don't pay attention to my threads. Plenty to choose from Karen.
If this forum meant 1% to me that it does to you I'd seek a head shrink's help.
"This is MY forum waaaaa"
Get me booted off. It's impossible to measure how little it would mean to be banned from "your" forum Karen.

Not doors that open inwards, and not when they open the door before you get to it. Now that's common sense.
Well that comment, really makes sense.
In Texas vernacular, you ain't read, and studied, the teachings of Lao Tzu, Confucius. or
Sun Tzu.

Your Hanzi, means

Tiān'ānmén dà túshā (I had to google that)
Tiananmen Massacre, in English.
I hope that you, or your family did not have to go through that horror.
My uncommon sense tells me that you were not even born before 1989.

I love kicking…..uh….nudging the storm door shut just in time to see it collide with one of those bastards’ heads as they are bolting towards me at full speed. WACK! LMFAO.

Why would you "LOVE" seeing an animal that was protecting their home harmed?
Many, many times I have had to fight and hurt dogs that attacked me.
Never have I found joy in it, or LMFAO.
You are on their turf and their job is defend and protect the family that feeds them.
Yes, there are stupid people that enjoy having an "aggressive" dog for protection, and I do not blame them for their fears.

I'm not sure how to take this post.

A lot of Texans have read and studied Sun Tzu? Enough that it appears in their vernacular? And how does that apply here?

Why would you feel the need to translate the phrase I put on my profile for me? I put it there for a specific reason, you use that uncommon sense and let me know when you figured out the reason.

While we're on the topic, what gives your uncommon sense the idea that I was born during or after 1989? I'll give you a hint, I remember where I was when the Berlin Wall came down. Though, I didn't exactly understand why Hasselhoff was there singing.

Cool.
When will you learn to write a coherent sentence ,much less a paragraph, with correct punctuation and grammar?
I was alive and remember when the Berlin Wall was built and when it fell.
I had the privilege to take a piss on a piece of it in a Las Vegas casino bathroom.
Yes, many Texans have read Sun Tzu. It is required reading in all USA military Academy's.
Fewer Texan's have studied Lao Tzu.
I felt no need to translate your phrase, I just wanted to know what the Hanzi phrase meant.
When I learned the meaning and reading some of your posts, that told me something was off.
In 1989 you should have known why Hasselhoff was there singing.
Also in 1989 was Tiananmen Massacre, on your profile.
You never said you were there and you just used it as a moniker.
My uncommon sense says I could not care one iota why you portray a false persona.

For the same reason I laugh when I see a human being run straight into a glass door. Only the dog is wanting to sink its teeth in me. So it’s a relief and hilarious. And no one is harmed.

It should always be remembered, liberals have ZERO sense of humor.
Gets the sweats if an animal is disrespected but millions of cut up human beings is nothing more than a "choice".
Sickening crowd the libs are.

Never needed them. I’ve found through the years a stern voice and intimidating posture was enough to make 90% of dogs back down and wimper away and the other 9% to have a standoff with me until I was able to get away. I’ll reserve 1% for the viscous attackers, I haven’t had that encounter yet.

Allergic to cardboard.
It sends a mixed message when you invite a delivery driver onto your property, but also have an aggressive dog running free on the property. I will leave the package in a safe location, honk the horn if a signature is needed, or not deliver if it’s not safe. It’s not my job to feed someone else’s dogs.

No, just pointing out inconsistencies in your seemingly false unsupported Asian persona.
If you are a true student and practitioner of the wisdoms you cut and paste, then I will apologize.
Lao Tzu's teaching taught me well.
"Yield and overcome".
Move me.
