I cant get a straight answer out of any union reps. A lot of drivers working under 8hrs past couple weeks wondering if once the new contract comes into effect if hrs worked will be what we are paid.

No you are not. “As long as work is available “. They could possibly send you home every single day and there’s nothing you can do.

Nope. “As long as work is available “. We are going to lose a tremendous amount of money! Already see it now with the Saturday work. They have the Saturday guy destroy all the work on one particular route. On Monday they tell the driver his route is cut because it’s light. But it’s only light because they targeted his route . 22.4 drivers are going to do the same thing

Yes, you are guaranteed 8 paid hours when you report to work as scheduled, on time. If you finish with less than 8 paid hours, and you want your guarantee, then contact a supervisor and let them know you want your 8 hours. The new contract did not change anything about the 8 hour guarantee.

Just to clarify so there isn't any confusion.

Your 06 will be changed to 05 the first time. The next morning you'll say something and will be told you should have said something last night. That night when you come in you'll say you want your 8. The response will be: go to the closet and get the bucket and brush and go clean the toilets upstairs! You will do this 1 time and never ask for your guaranteed 8 again!

I thought it was odd that people would complain about making overtime money. Greatest contract ever NO. The contract has nothing to do with the 40hr work week this has been in the cards. The union offering discount delivery only icing on the cake. Does if work available mean no work because a center running 60 routes when it used to be 45?

You can just not bid 22.4s and follow the normal pt to full time driver progression. Took me 5 years to get a driver position. That’s how it has always worked.

They cannot change your 06 to 05 without asking you to take a paid actual before you clock out. Sky is falling on charm cafe.

So say your route is cut but lower seniority drivers are working that are Mon tru Fri drivers UPS still have to work you unless you want the day off. In the contract does it not say Seniority prevails at all times. Wouldn’t UPS have to lay off lower seniority drivers on days they cut routes Mon tru Fri.
