I'm sure, just like with pretty much everything at UPS, there are parts of the country where drivers still scan pickups. In my center they have instructed us not to, unless it's a special case.Never heard that, 29 year driver.
Seriously? We were on the belt talking about high values and I was surprised to hear that there are drivers who don't put HV in the remarks column for a HV delivery.
Seriously?
Is this your own idea,or were you told to do so?
I guess procedures are different everywhere, we do return send again values to LP as well. This is the way that I was taught to do it. I was also told to send in a message upon delivery of the HV and to bring any undelivered HV's to the office for overnight storage.

The package goes thru the system Un-controlled?We don't have LP in our building----HV send agains are locked in the center manager's office.
The reason that we were talking about them is our OMS clerk has the drivers with HV's sign off on them without handing them the package.

It has not been a problem (yet) but I would not want to be the driver who signs off on a HV and not be able to find it while on road.
This is what is called getting too "comfortable" on the job. It has, and will, result in lost jobs.
Why would a person with a well paying job like ours depend/rely on another person on such a critical issue?
I would stand right there and wait for the clerk to bring me the package before I sign for it.
