DOT 70 hour rule??

Why do people think that . We don’t have it good ... we make a decent living but we sacrifice things we don’t want to have to sacrifice to make that decent living, like spending time with our families or sometimes even your marriage .... we freaking earn our money with sweat and our body taking a pounding . So obviously your not a driver ... you know who has it good .. prevailing wage highway workers they make 45 to 59 a hour and home by 330 pm and town and village workers make 38 dollars an hour also also home by 330 .. don’t forget the power authority workers make over 50$ a hour .. all them jobs are the ones that you see one guy working and 4 guys watching. ... that’s having it good .... Not being a 30 yr ups driver needing hip and knee surgery after retirement

Most of us would gladly wake up earlier to get off earlier.


Working 9.5 hours isn't the issue for most drivers it's not getting home until 8 pm.

60/7 70/8 has always been DOT laws.


Nothing has changed.

Its been there but where Our union failed is in establishing a five day 9.5 work week for package.

So today my shop steward said that the DOT hours of service went up to 70. Does this all but guarantee a 6 day work week next comtract?

Next contract.
Ask for triple time after 55 hours. No exceptions. Trust me this will grow the union bank account.

They just claimed the 70 hr thing for us to have everyone work Saturday. Its all OT and anything over 8 is 3x so whatever, I'm excited to show them how tired starting at 1030 makes me
