30k in strike/fired/early retirement fund. I also own about hundred shares of fed ex stock. Which should see a nice boost if there is a work stoppage.

I'm not sure why I would need a 'strike fund'. Six months of expenses in savings is a basic emergency fund everyone should have irregardless of a strike.

We have that but do our best not to touch it. So we'd rather have the fund also.

I come from a UAW family and know to put money back in a contract year.I doubt we will strike,but right now I have $8,000 on hand and by August 1 i expect to have $10,000 in cash.
I'm right at the top of the seniority list and no one can ever figure out why i never take days off or call in. Gotta be prepared!

I can honestly say I don't have enough saved up as of right now. But I live well below my means so I will have no problem having enough saved up by the end of July.
