Simple solution.......
Starting P.T. Wage....
08/01/2018......$11
08/01/2019......$12
08/01/2020......$13
08/01/2021......$14
08/01/2022......$15
All current P.T. and friend.T employees get $1 p/hr raise per year at the same time as above.
So simple, yet both sides will complicate the S__t out of it.
Those are still minimum wage numbers. Maybe it’s not worth the effort to negotiate pt wages.

i think part timers should go on strike and start are own union

Agree :grouphugg:

It’s like we already on strike every year and new scabs are hired daily.
At least 50% of the PT seniority list has been there less than a year. (Sign of crappy working conditions, pay, management)They say they made more at McDonalds
Usually the only PTrs that hang on want to go full time.
But if you want to stay PT unless you have 20+ years your pay sucks.

I hear so many part timers comment that they thought Unions were supposed to take care of all the members they take Union dues from.

That’s why I’m assuming there might be low voting numbers from the PT. Only the top 10% attempt to make a career out of it.

With the show up bonus, UPS is already paying $15 to $20/hr for an off the street new PT employee. UPS is going broke(ha ha) by not paying a living wage.
A "living wage" is not possible with part time. We would have to pay a very high hourly wage for a person to live off of 17.5 hrs a week(3.5hr guarantee a day)

At $35/hr.
$35 x 17.5 = $612.50 a week = $31850 a year. Maybe a livable wage in cheaper areas, but definitely not a big city, or even the surrounding suburbs.

Perhaps we should start part timers at $35 hour, and go up from there.

That's less than minimum wage in some areas.
