Is buying water at a truck stop "time theft"?

You don’t seem to work for UPS anymore. Most buildings, departments, and shifts are short handed. No one is getting fired for buying a hot dog and chips while they fuel up. They don’t have enough employees as is, especially feeder drivers.
I wouldn’t just stop into a truck stop and go have breakfast on company time but if I’m going in to do a tire bump and run inside to use the bathroom I’m not coding that out.. never. And while I’m in there I grab a coffee so I can stay awake long enough to get their loads back in one piece I’m not going to code that out either…never.

Here's a catch-22 to your question. When do you plan to eat that hot dog and chips if you're not taking break? I mean, it's not exactly something that's gonna stay well in a cooler for later.

Of course. What else did you do besides buy a hot dog? Anyway, you’re really missing the point, how long ago are we talking? UPS has changed is my point. We have beards and :censored2: now.
So, having beards means we can steal time? Serious question. You and several others seem to equate slight changes in staffing open a door to theft. So odd.

Meaning buy a coffee....or skittles or a blue parrot headset....porno mag too?

Fascinating how you guys justify this. Beards make it ok, staffing.

Again, bathroom breaks are approved...on the clock.

It has been documented that say- buying chips and a hotdog is theft....would buying water, chips and a hotdog be too?

So, you would be able to buy water after fueling....but have to go back to the feeder to punch out for the hotdog and chips? IMO...yes.

Would mgt be that petty....you bet! All this given running out of water on road....
Jesus Christ! You have been here for 40 years and you have no idea what you can get away with with out being charged? Seriously?

I’m on UPS’s side about this

No , you can’t just stop at gas station and buy water on the clock.

Come to work prepared like a big boy

( or deliver the stop while you buy stuff 😎✊)

Get away with?

Seriously, I try to do the right and best job I can do. I sleep at night because of it. I've had a long and relatively uneventful career because of my work ethic. I don't try to "get away with" anything.

Yeah seriously. Jesus Christ didn't have anything to do with it.

This is bullying.

Explain this fully please.
If you're buying a hot dog to eat for lunch, it should really be no question that you're punching out for it because you're about to eat lunch. But by making the inference that you're stopping to buy a hot dog but not taking lunch implies that you plan on eating that hot dog while driving.
