James 22-25
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.m 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom,n and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.o

No, it's a clearly understood tenet of their faith. If you disagree you're free to go elsewhere.
This is true. I certainly believe the SBC is completely wrong and likely missed a rich and fascinating voice by doing so, but that is their prerogative. It does give me pause, however, whenever a church finds it so easy to exclude folks from service while turning a blind eye to the shortcomings of their anointed clergy. Somehow, someway, I think the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit would find a way to overlook the absence of a dick to use her as an instrument of Their Word. They seem to be able to use all forms of deviance and nonsense in the world of male clergy to an acceptable level.

Which is why we have many denominations. And of course there are clergymen who do bad things just as there are bad cops. Doesn't mean you get rid of all of them or assume that most are like that.

god is dead
what happened to the SBC President on CNN going on about righting wrongs against women and raising up women within the SBC.

Shocked to find out a dogmatic prick was lying to everyone.

Rom 7:6,

John 14:16-17
Rom.7:6
“But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit”....
The apostles were guided into all truth (John 16:13). They taught that we are “dead to the law” (Rom. 7:4) and “delivered from the law” (Rom. 7:6). They revealed that the Old Testament was “done away” (2 Cor. 3:7, 11, 14) and “abolished” (2 Cor. 3:13; Eph. 2:15). If the law is still in effect and is to be kept, then the apostles were wrong. If the apostles are right, then those who keep the law and teach men to do so are wrong.
The Holy Spirit was revealing something to the Apostles to preach and teach which would be confirmed by their ability to do miracles( a power given to the Apostles by the HS). This was going to be something totally new. Totally different from the law of Moses. It would give all a new life and hope from what the Spirit offered. Grace and mercy by the blood of Christ.
If this is the text you use to say God talks to you personally, could you tell me how you get that?

John 14: 16-17
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper , to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
Sorry. This isn't your mail.
In John 14-16 ,Jesus instructing his apostles about his departure from them. In doing so he promised to send the Comforter to THEM. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (Jn. 16:13). The apostles would be without a Comforter when Jesus departed, but they would receive another Comforter (the Holy Spirit) to be with them. His mission would be to supply the needs of the apostles in carrying out the great commission given by Jesus.
Holy Spirit baptism was a promise made by Jesus to his APOSTLES and DID NOT include anyone else, or was it a command to anyone. The Holy Spirit baptism promised by Jesus had a distinct purpose. .. "He will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance"; "He will guide you into all truth"; "He will show you things to come." The apostles needed to be able to remember the things Jesus had taught them, along with additional truths that they were not able to receive while he was among them. The scheme of redemption that was hidden with God for thousands of years, was about to be revealed in its fullness and completeness. The apostles would be perfectly equipped for their mission.
When Jesus appeared to the apostles after his resurrection, and instructed them about their receiving Holy Spirit baptism, he said, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8). They were informed that the promised Holy Ghost baptism would clothe them with power. About ten days later, on Pentecost,... "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:24)
The New Testament was not written yet. Only spoken as the Spirit gave them utterance. You have nothing in this promise at all.

My opinion differs from your opinion as to the meaning of the verses I cited that you cited .
