Strike Vote

Up In Smoke

It doesn't work that way. You need a voting committee, allow for observers and also it's not as simple as mark an X under yes or no under your name. You have to have a ballot box that will need to be inspected and kept secure. An area where members can mark their ballots in secret.

Everyone thinks the BA just shows up with a clip board or something.
That's how we are doing it. Face to face, check a box, initials and move on. We start Thursday.

Let’s discuss the positives and negatives of taking a strike vote at this point in the game
They must feel it's very important to get it right away since they aren't even giving locals a full two weeks to prepare and get the word out while also performing the vote.

So if the strike is authorized. And we then turn down a forthcoming contract, what happens then? Not enough time to get it renegotiated and voted on by August 1.
