With the handshake agreement, even if we vote this down theres no hope for a strike is there? The union is behind this contract so there not going to allow it.

What happens if we do vote it down, and they fix some more to make it "look better" and we still vote it down again? Work with no contract at all amd it stays like it is for the next couple years? No one has mentioned what actually happens if we keep voting the contracts down. We cant strike without union okay correct?

If we vote it down they will renegotiate, and repeat that cycle. Probably take a couple months each time not years.. And if the company were to eventually give their best offer and it was voted down, then maybe a strike is possible.

I don’t care how many times we vote it down it’s easy to see the union leadership is not going to allow a strike. This is more fixed then a wwe wrestling match and we the employees are going to lose

A lockout would be more likely, if the company decides to punish us.

Good point, a lot of people may have forgotten about that. That's as damning as any other evidence of Hoffa and his leaderships' complicity with the company in negotiating this contract. You would think he would place language in the contract that would permanently disallow 70/8 work schedules, yet it has been extended through the months of October to January...

Personally, I think Hoffa and Co. need to be forcibly removed from office. He has shown that he no longer represents my or the unions best interests.

Article 26, Section 5: Competition. "The company shall not change the DOT sixty (60) hours in seven (7) days to the seventy (70) hours in eight (8) days rule for package drivers except at Peak."

Seeing as how peak season is defined as October 15-January 15th, that whole time period is now open for the 70/8 rule. Again, same as with the "as long as work is available" language for the 8-hour guarantee, this isn't language that's up for interpretation. UPS has lawyers that have already determined that the above language is bulletproof...it wouldn't be there in that specific form if it wasn't.

That will always be an open ended interpretation that we will never win.
