yea it is grotesque. universities quite often dont pay taxes. same with churches. puts the burden on the rest of the community.

I ain't rich and the gov't sends me money all the time.
They have so many programs out there to help everyone out.
I just have to keep changing a couple of answers to the routine questions in the forms.
Govt sends me money which in no way makes up for inflated housing and theres other problems too

Students and families starting off with the notion of "paying it back" take an entire different pathway to college, if they are smart. College's from the get-go, avoid any talk of cost or debt. They focus on the dorm rooms, the gym, the pool, the football team, etc, everything but cost. They even talk of loans as "aid". It's not aid, it's a loan.

Unfortunately I’m gonna guess most would not, because apparently we have raised a whole generation of people who feel entitled to a College education even if it does not advance their career opportunities.

It’s not doing good if they go into debt and become debt slaves. No good can come from that. They just become worker bees afraid to do anything because of their debt.
