Looks like Trump is going to derail the Republican Party. Good they deserve it.

Afghanistan withdrawal, border crisis, inflation, dividing the country, hurting oil production...quite a Democratic resume'. Yet you think the Republicans deserve derailment.

I think Republicans will eventually have to recognize the inevitability of Trump as their Presidential candidate and they'll actually start to get mad at DeSantis if he doesn't decide to step back and wait until 2028 for his turn.

Haven't gotten to the debates yet. If Trump bullies DeSantis like he did others in 2016 then DeSantis should consider bowing out. If DeSantis not only stands up to Trump but makes him look old, tired, and childish, are you going to say Trump should give up running? If not then what you really want is a repeat of 2020 with a Democrat win and are being disingenuous about wanting a viable, reasonable alternative.

If Trump loses and reacts in a childish way then good riddance. If he's putting himself above the good of the party it will affirm that it's time to move on. But if he does get the nomination then good for him. No matter how you feel about him I believe most of what you think of him is a combination of not only his personality but also relentless attacks from the Left that were baseless. I can hold my nose and vote for him because he'd be much, much better than what we have now. But I don't want to see the country going through another 4 years of the foolishness we experienced from the Left last time. So I gladly hope DeSantis or another viable candidate will win. And I hope that we won't see a repeat of constant attacks on another Republican for the good of the country's sake. Not holding my breath.
