What does your center manager say about that?Anyone else have a Post Office on their route that refuses to accept the basic packages? I only get a couple a week for the one on my route but I have been told by the postal supervisor on staff there that they will always refuse delivery. They say that they are a "satellite" office and that the basic packages must go to the main post office in the city and then redelivered by the USPS to their little branch.

i am not understanding why you would concern yourself with the refusal, what possible difference could it make to you, a service cross with refusal and sheeted as such is the only concern you have, what mgt decides from their should not make any differnce in doing the job as instructed
For one thing the refusal makes for unhappy customers on the receiving end as well as on the shipping end. The failure to provide a service someone has paid for reflects badly on UPS regardless of the condition. Besides that it creates more work on the drivers part.i am not understanding why you would concern yourself with the refusal, what possible difference could it make to you, a service cross with refusal and sheeted as such is the only concern you have, what mgt decides from their should not make any differnce in doing the job as instructed

short and long of basic
...
as for the refusal of the packages by the postal service, that does not reflect on us, we are not the ones that would not complete the delivery. it is their issue.

Danny, I agree with virtually your whole synopsis except the part above. Although I'm sure there are some customers that would blame USPS vs UPS. There's a lot others that would say. Hey, I signed a contract with UPS and UPS you signed a contract with USPS. You clean up the act with the USPS. I pay UPS not USPS.
I'm willing to bet there will be work done in corp on USPS that refuse pkgs shortly. Feb 09 at the latest. (JMO)
I have had basic pkgs refused by the post office and they go back out the next day and ups just delivers it themselves...no big deal.
