UPS Leadership are you there?

Discussion in 'UPS Partners' started by Fourscoreandzeroyears, May 14, 2019.

  1. When is leadership going to wake up and punch Amazon in the GUT? We can sell all the [email protected]& Amazon sells on a UPS marketplace web site. Amazon is threatening our business model, lets hit them back. What the #ell are we waiting for? If we dont do it FedEx will. HELLO?

Better to do one thing half-assed than two things quarter-assed.

That is literally what we are working on right now, we are creating fulfillment centers in areas where we can offer 2day shipping via ground. Unfortunately our competition has the talent and leadership we don't. It's like rats off a sinking ship around here with our newer "partners" as they leave for companies that understand the old school management style of intimidation and fear doesn't work anymore. So long as our senior leadership continues to transform (screw) us (ending our retirement, adding Saturday's, taking away vacation, etc) nobody in their right mind would choose to work for UPS. Ask yourself why you work here? If the answer is because retirement is within reach, that's understandable, but my guess is a lot of us are here because of fear. It's tough to bite the hand that feeds you, but it's the same one that beats you.

There too busy Transforming Management and non-union folks out of money. They are too focused on financial contraction than financial expansion. They don't understand if you starve the horses they don't gallop.

There is no clear definition of what the real "Transformation" Plan is. Its just a buzz word shrouded with uncertainty. The only thing that has been shown is forced retirement, cutting jobs, cutting spending to the breaking point, and stealing already earned vacations. Transformation has only shown us disrespect and disgust, and you expect these people to lead us?

UPS Management would better serve their duties to stop with all the fantasy number games. If they would stop lying to themselves about how long it takes to do stuff, work off of real numbers, they could make more accurate projections and do a better job of controlling costs. Only then should they ever even consider branching out. Not that going into retail is a good idea. Be better off opening healthcare facilities.

Had a group called eFulfillment years ago that was going to do just that, late 1990's early 2000's. Died on the vine as things do at UPS. Analyzed it for 3 years, tried it for about 9 weeks, did a 2 year postmortem, which is the typical timeline of a 5 year plan at UPS.

  17. See thats the problem! UPS should be standing up on social media and declaring we are competing DIRECTLY WITH AMAZON!! Use UPS efullfilment instead of AMAZON!
  18. UPS e fulfillment is alive and well. Problem is we dont pump the media with the service and they dont know about it. Amazon is great at letting the media advertise for them.
  19. Technically UPS has already won that war, with the adjacent business model and hubs. The only thing amazon has is cheaper but at at twice the time.

PASinterference Yes, I know I'm working late.

Remind me again about the "on time network"( 30 min later start times and late air everyday) and I'll tell you how the "partners" will figure out a way to screw it up.
