That backfired on them during the strike of 97. The cops were on our side and was checking personal vehicles for packages.


Our Police Dept. were Teamsters too. Every time a feeder (management ran a few empty ones for the first week or so to make it look like it was business as usual) pulled up to the building a police officer was there checking to make sure the driver had a CDL.

Our policeman are also Teamsters.
 
Hard to do that with the wheelbarrow and all....

Mgt who were around during the strike received a plaque that thanked them for keeping the company "going" during the "teamsters strike".... still have a couple who proudly display it...

Yes--they did a bang up job keeping the company going----as long as there were no packages to deliver.

It took them over a week to get rid of the one days worth of packages that were caught in the system when the strike was called. For the most part all they did was call the customers and tell them to come get their stuff. That "atta boy" plaque is nothing to be proud of.
