Whats wrong with President Obama?

Lets agree with atleast something : he's better then Bush ! LOL

Klein, lets keep thing in perspective....you are debating with the peanut gallery......the disgruntled minority of this country who's neo-con idealogy recieved a can of whoop-ass last election.....they reluctantly accept responsibilty for nearly causing another "Great Depression" era and blaming Obama for everthing including creating more debt out of the blue. Spinning the truth is their only avenue to regain power, however most economist agree, in order to stimulate the economy, we must spend and invest domestically....Some say, we'll need to spend even more for more effective stimulus...what's the Right Wing solution, do nothing and give tax breaks to the rich and powerful....fear and scare tactics by using words like socialist and communism is falling on deaf ears. Hike up your skirts republicans, your idealogy is a failure, so your only hope is to sabotage the new administration.....Canadians, don't sterotype Americans from this or any other forums....there's many different views expressed in the USA, but the popular opinion trumps them all....an Obama, so far has a clear advantage of support, especially way over that of the previous administration....flame on :no_flames:

Diesel, finally someone normal on here. They all seem to be rednecks on here, or think that brown uniform is German History.
It;'s the best thing that could have happened to the States... for Obama to get elected.
Bush, left the country in turmoil.. I follow news, politics very well.
Bush, spent, spent and spent, .
And then these tough times came along... No more money to finance anything. No penny left set aside !
Was only a matter of time.
Stimulus program, every westernized and asian country did it.
But, they were much better off , because they we'rent already broke, unlike the americans.
You got more to swallow now.
But, don't blame that one on Obama !
Clinton left the country in a surplus... Bush ruined it. Not just because of wars, but tax relief and free medicare for 65+ .

You're blaming Bush for Medicare? That's been around since Lyndon Johnson hasn't it?

Unless Canadian news is wrong, I am not lying... I will even serch the net now...just for you !

I asked this in another post....Don't you have spell check installed ?

I think you are wrong about the meds are free for 65+, if it were true then why are so many not getting them, or in some cases importing them form Mexico & Canada ?

What you said was "free medicare for for 65+", not "improved prescription drug benefit". Medicare itself has been around since 1965.

You better read up on your history. The world owes us ? ! LOL who fought and won WWII ? Well, actually amercans didn't join the fight against Europe, until it was almost over.. I think in 1941 . By then, Canadians, brits, all of Europe, Russians, were fighting the germans. You guys slammed to Atombombs over Japan ! That was nasty. I can see the first one... but then they should have realized how much devistating that was. (The 2nd bomb is unforgivenalbe)!!!
But , americans don't even feel that gulit. The main thing is you won !
And proud of it.
In the short term the CDN dollar is the way to go. Actually if you would have bough some just 2 mthns ago.. you'ld be up almost 25%.
But, it's only at 92cents US now, I expect it to be at $1.20 US by next summer.
And once the economy gets going.... raw materials and oil goes back up (it's what Canada has the most of ) our dollar will really sore. Besides compared to you, over $10 Trillion in debt.... we only have a fraction of debt.

You make it seem like all we did was come in, drop a couple bombs and that was the end of it. Millions of Americans fought in WW2, and hundreds of thousands lost their lives. In regards to the bombs, the belief at the time was that using the bomb would make the Japanese surrender, when they didn't after the first bomb, we dropped a second one. Was it necessary to drop two? Its debatable, but who knows how many lives were saved by us not having to invade Japan. I wouldn't say its one of our proudest moments though.

The US economy has gone though a number of booms and busts over the years. I think you underestimate the resilience of the US population. As long as the government doesn't mess things up too much we will eventually recover and our economy will start booming again.

And you are right Canada's debt is much smaller than ours, but per capita ours in only about 35% higher.

How do you get 35% per capita ? Before the stimulus program hit here, every Canadian was $2000 in debt (goverment debt).. Americans are at $35.000 (that just goverment debt) as soon as you are born, you owe $35.000 !
That will atleast double by 2017... to about $80.000.
A family of 4 is then basically $360.000 in debt (that's just goverment debt, not your personal loans or mortages)... getting close to a million ! Good luck paying that back !
The bank of Canada annouced yesterday, we are on the road to recovery. Recession is over here. I hope they are right.
But, the figures speak for themselves..GDP is in positive, Retail is up, Housing, etc.
I just don't know if we can make it out, without the US being on track.

.

It may double now it may not. Bush left office with a projected budget surplus. Zero our new President is trying his best to spend money he doesn't have. Problem is the President does not spend money our Congress does and one of the beautiful things about our system of government is that we can change the entire house every two years and since spending has to start there things may very well turn and we can possibly take our country back from these radical politicians.

Your info is wrong. There was never a surpus predicted.
I didn't want to say anything actually.
But, while I'm here...
Yes, if those debts keep skyrocketing.... Obama may have to rejoin Africa, and USA won't be the same... it'll be United States of Africa !
Thats being very harsch and critical, and will take that back.
But, it does worry me, the huge debt burden you have, and it's growing and growing and growing !

Didn't you hear, Canada put Visa Requirements into place last week for Mexicans to enter this country ? I htought it was kind of odd, Mexico belonging to Nafta.
But, that just shows, Nafta doesn't mean much at all. Unlike the EU .
