UPS eyes in-home health services with U.S. vaccine project – Reuters

United Parcel Service Inc wants to get beyond U.S. doorsteps with a new push into healthcare.

The world’s largest package delivery firm is preparing to test a U.S. service that dispatches nurses to vaccinate adults in their homes, Reuters has learned, as the company and its healthcare clients work to fend off cost pressures and competitive threats from Amazon.com.

UPS did not disclose which vaccines it would be using in the project, but drug and vaccine maker Merck & Co told Reuters it is looking at partnering with the company for the initiative.

UPS truck crashes, scattering 1,000 packages across I-495 – Boston

Massachusetts State Police say a UPS tractor-trailer has crashed with another truck, scattering more than 1,000 packages across an interstate highway.

Police say the crash on Interstate 495 south in Chelmsford at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday was one of two accidents on the same stretch of highway at about the same time.

The other crash involved a tractor-trailer and a car. A total of three people were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening

Family searching for UPS driver who honored their father – Everything Lubbock

On February 23, 2019, the Rumsey family lost their father, Norris Rumsey to congestive heart failure. On the way to bury Norris, the family saw something on the side of the road that caught their eye.

Stacy Rumsey, Norris’s daughter-in-law, said they saw a UPS driver that pulled over, stopped traffic, and got out of his truck to pay his respects to the funeral procession.

“We all noticed the UPS driver that had taken time out of his work day to stop on the side of the road,” Stacy Rumsey said. “And echo exactly what we had all been talking about all week in reflecting on my father in law.”

City Council honors UPS driver whose heroic actions saved Fontana woman’s life – Herald News

Andrew Arroyo was the right man in the right place at the right time, and as a result, he saved the life of a Fontana woman who was being viciously mauled by two dogs.

For his heroic actions in thwarting the dogs and treating the woman, Arroyo, a UPS driver, was honored by the Fontana City Council during the March 12 meeting.

Captain Mike Dorsey of the Fontana Police Department told the dramatic story of what happened on Feb. 25, when Arroyo was driving his truck in the area of Foothill and Cypress avenues when he heard the screams of an elderly woman, Rosa Marquez.
