UPS delivery driver caught on camera in New Orleans cutting across homeowner’s lawn – WDSU

In the busiest time of year, a UPS driver was caught on camera in Lakeview cutting corners, driving across a man’s yard.

“Beyond the disbelief and outrage, I think. I’m a customer, UPS makes deliveries here — so, I don’t know,” said local artist Tuna Seither, who owns the property and gave WDSU the video of the incident.

Seither said the UPS driver was caught on camera but that’s not the only vehicle that he said has been cutting across his lawn to avoid the construction site at the corner of Louis XIV Street and Polk Street in Lakeview.

UPS gets shredded for tweet about how it will deal with North Pole letters – WPBF

It didn’t take long for the company to delete tweet

The UPS store tweeted a statement offering services for Christmas, but it wasn’t taken well on the internet prompting the company to quickly delete the tweet.

The now-deleted tweet read, “If your child addresses a letter to the North Pole, you can leave it with us. We do shredding.”

Many parents know that kids who address letters to Santa Claus can mail them just about anywhere but the United Parcel Service’s plan for what they do with the letters is rubbing customers the wrong way.

Deputies in Seminole County say a seasonal UPS employee was running a porch piracy scheme.

Officials with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said Okoye Manley delivered packages for UPS and would text the addresses of deliveries to Tanjinika Wright and Dekeria Wright and tell them if anybody was home.

According to the arrest report, the Wrights would follow behind the UPS truck and steal packages from unoccupied homes that Manley made them aware of.

ADA doesn’t require managers to provide on-the-spot accommodations, 6th Cir. says – HR Dive

Dive Brief:

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not obligate employers to make on-the-spot accommodations of an employee’s choosing, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled (Brumley v. United Parcel Service, Inc., No. 18-5453 (6th Cir., Nov. 30, 2018)).
  • Melissa Brumley, a UPS employee, injured her back while unloading heavy packages from a truck. She first moved to a light-duty position and then took leave. When she returned to work, her doctor ordered permanent lifting and driving restrictions. Her supervisor sent her home, saying she couldn’t perform her usual job with the restrictions but added that she could receive some kind of workplace accommodation. About two weeks’ later, UPS sent Brumley paperwork informing her that it was initiating the ADA’s interactive process and requesting medical documentation and accommodation suggestions. Once she returned the forms, the employer scheduled a meeting with her for the following month. During the meeting, UPS discussed reassignment as an accommodation, but Brumley said she preferred to return to her doctor and have her restrictions lifted, according to court documents. She did so and returned to her original job, and UPS formally closed its interactive process.
  • Brumley sued, alleging that UPS failed to accommodate her disability and owed her back pay for the time she missed.

FedEx And UPS Are Both Too Cheap To Ignore – Seeking Alpha

  • FDX and UPS are both down significant from their 52-week highs.
  • These names have been caught up in the sell-off in the transportation space and I think it’s irrational.
  • Both names are producing strong EPS growth, offer great, growing dividends, and multi-year valuation lows.
