If you want a raise then slow down and get OT everyday.Retired in Dec after no raise for the top.if I could not would still be there but I could so I did and that no raise was the tipping point.
Hope you guys and gals get a decent raise but would not count on it.Fed will find any excuse not to.

Service should not be based upon compensation.
This isn’t MY company. My quality of work is directly related to pay. I take no pride in being an ant in someone’s ant farm. You pay me well, I work harder. Pay me less, I work less. If I was an entrepreneur I’d be incredibly proud of even a $30,000 salary. Because it’s my own company. But if I’m working for someone else, my quality of work/service is directly related to my wage. There’s no pride in this company.

Are company pride and personal pride one in the same?

I just wish the Ground ppl well. Shift everything to them. Make express a premier overnight company. That’s it. With good benefits. 30$ hr no more than 30 hrs a week. Have a smaller PM crew on the back end to grab bulk stops, reg pu, & dropboxes.

Kind of like saying a Rolls Royce and a Ford Escort should be the same quality car even though the prices are different. Nonsense.
When I started in 1989 I believe I was in the $10-12/hr range.
When I retired in 2018 I believe I was in the $30-32/hr range.
Using your "logic" my level of service should have tripled. It didn't----I provided the same level of service on my first day as I did on my last. Now, I will admit that those who took care of me at Peak or throughout the year did receive an increased level of service.

Did you have the same volume of freight in 2018 as you did in 1989?

So your service as a function of your workload did NOT remain static. You therefore did not provide the same level of service.
I provided the same base level of service regardless of whether they tipped or not; however, I did step it up for those who did tip, such as putting their deliveries in to two or more locations or coming back for a pickup if they had a late order.

It is when you take personal pride in making someone else money that spends it on everything but you. I’m about $13 away from UPS top out at Express, after 15 years at FedEx. This place isn’t getting anywhere in the same galaxy as UPS, as far as work ethic from me. It was different when Express didn’t expect 12 hour days out of its drivers. Employees were a little more “okay” with the pay because the trade off was getting to go to your daughters dance recital. Pick your kids up from school. Getting to sit down for dinner. All the things UPS guys sacrificed for the higher wage. But now Express wants you to work a UPS day for FedEx money. And ITS. NOT. HAPPENING.
