This guy just played a genius 6D chess move. Not only got into America and got a work permit, but just manipulated the media and one of the biggest companies in the world into providing him permanent job security. I wish american kids were this smart and ambitious. I like Cubans, hard working and the only communist hating, conservative, Republican loving Hispanic group that comes here. Didn’t come for a handout. Went right to work. Can’t say that for the millions pouring across the border right now.

You do realize Cubans are one of the fastest growing undocumented groups "pouring across the border right now", right?

Go ahead, look it up. Now how do you feel about Cubans? Are they lazy and have their hand out for free :censored2:, now?

"Pouring across the border". Typical dehumanizing trash talk from someone who has NO IDEA what these people go through to leave their homes.

Can we start from a place of civility when discussing the immigration issue, or is it all just going to be this vitriol forever?

Yeah screw it. Let’s let all the less fortunate in. Everyone outside North America and Western Europe come on in. We’ll pay for everything. Don’t worry we can afford it. Cubans and Venezuelans are the only people south of the border with a credible claim of asylum. Fleeing authoritarian socialist communist crap countries. Claiming asylum because your country sucks and you can’t find a job and police don’t police isn’t credible. You also can’t (By international law) walk through a dozen countries and claim asylum in the one you want to go to. Should the population of Detroit be able to claim asylum in Canada because their city is a crime ridden unpoliced hellscape with no job opportunities? No. Typical democrat only wanting to talk about the feels. How else would you describe upwards of 8,000 people A DAY coming across? That ain’t a light drip.

So by your logic if it's hard to immigrate to the US we should just let everyone in and hope it works out?

Thanks for the great advice, shame it's literally always failed throughout history

This is not an immigration issue. This is an ILLEGAL immigration issue. One is not the same as the other. One is LEGAL, and one ILLEGAL. One follows laws and rules and the other invades with no care or consideration for the laws and rules.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Those nitwits don’t care. It’s ballots the Dems are after.

I bet the same people that think it is Ok for illegals to skip the legal line and invade this country would be the first to punch someone for skipping the line in front of them at Disney World.

It is still an immigration issue. They are not in compliance with our immigration law. But some of that results from the current law makes it very difficult to enter as a citizen.

The problem is how to address the issue humanely and firmly. I hold both parties responsible for not having the courage to fix the problem in a just and timely manner when either of them had control over the Congress and presidency.

It’s a perennially difficult issue with a ton of complexity. We HAVE caused some of this problem ourselves by decades of our Latin America policies favoring strongmen over democracies that would better the lives of those folks at the expense of our corporations. Now we’re paying for it and all that seems to get done is rampant racist remarks and nothing much else. It sucks.

What do you think we should do?

Nope. Never said that. Let’s start with respect of the individuals first instead of dehumanizing them just because we’re all pissed at Congress.

The xenophobic is strong in this thread.

Due to excessive immigration, there will come a day when you, or someone you care about will find himself with greatly reduced job and housing opportunities.

When that situation presents itself to you one too many times, and that moment of clarity crosses yer mind, I want you to know you have my condolences.

You have indicated I am a xenophobe. Fair enough.

Would you also call a person a cynophobe while he is being mauled by a dog?
