Customer Service..Ground strikes again

Not the first time....won't be the last time. It's like I told people..... "There's cheap...and then there's economical....Right now...we're just cheap".
Remember...It's a SMALL package carrier....Take a look at what he was dragging around. What do they expect for dollar store wages and zero benefits?

He's an idiot for not just starting to drop stuff by the garage when he was complained to the first 8 times.
...and then the customer would complain about that, too.

There's no doubt the driver is aware of the camera. And yet he continues mishandling the boxes.
It wouldn't surprise me if there is a backstory between the driver and the customer that would explain (but not necessarily excuse) the driver's behavior.

FedEx lowered what we have to carry from 75lbs to 50 lbs. Hate asking Grandma to grab the other side of the box. Policy is policy
And that poor slug in the above video almost his entire day is spent dragging that boulder in a box junk around all by himself. And word I was told is that UPS will beg off of those accounts they deem too hazardous in terms of possible injury relative to their profitability and pass them off to Fat Freddy will gladly take it because he passed off the liability to contractors a long time ago.

Yup. His van was probably full of IC's and 85+ boxes. And no handtruck.
because he passed off the liability to contractors a long time ago.
...and to explain why XG is the way it is, and why the drivers behave the way they do, that's all that needs to be ever said on the subject.

XG will not change their business model until the bean-counters determine otherwise. And with a surplus of idiot, stooge labor (more coming across our southern border everyday) the current XG business model can continue indefinitely.

I just want to make friends!
Compared to what ? For you letter carriers at Express those letters and jewelry boxes get heavy you know.
Some people want to carry big heavy boxes for lower compensation.
Some people want to carry letters and jewelry boxes for higher compensation.

Looks like there's something for everyone!

Well we’ve got drivers like that too, obviously higher wages would provide a bigger carrot but in the end it’s more emblematic of today’s pool of employees. $15 an hour or $40 an hour, you should have some pride in your work.

This can happen with any company. FedEx UpS USPS doesn’t matter. It’s real simple you don’t shovel, you don’t get your packages at your front door. There’s no excuse for tossing packages, especially in this day and age when everyone has cameras, but when I was a package driver, I left plenty of packages in snow banks next to the mailbox. I’m not taking your packages for a ride for a week because you’re too lazy to shovel. Shovel your property or you can go on an Easter egg hunt to find your packages. If it snowed on a Monday and Tuesday you haven’t shoveled it can be excused. No one is saying you have to run out the second it stops snowing and shovel, but if it’s 36 hours later, and you still haven’t cleared your driveways and walkways, you’re SOL.

I agree. But I think the driver's intentional mishandling of the packages has something to do with an incident between him and the recipient that we are not aware of. A backstory.

If a person mistreats waitstaff at a restaurant, he can expect mishandled food.
Mistreat a courier, expect mishandled packages.

That’s possible, actually now a days you never know. Customers have an arrogant sense of entitlement at times.

You have to have a job that you can be proud of and one that offers a clear path to a better future and a better place. Dragging around that stolen motor freight for dollar store wages and zero benefits offers neither and as a result are nothing more than transitional employment. Just a job between jobs and plenty of this type of employment is available.

In fact earlier today I checked the online job boards and found page after page of contractor box donkey wanted ads while offering the same money that was offered 5 years ago.

By the time the greed of Fat Freddy and his minion contractors is placated there's nothing left for the guy who has to perform the physical service of transporting that piece of motor freight wrongly classified as "small package" to the right place at the right time and in the right condition.

Try as Fat Freddy and his minions may to extract value completely disproportionate to what they offer in return it still comes back to the same reality..... Pay nothing...get nothing.

While I agree with you to an extent, whenever I get something delivered by ground or Amazon, I fully expect the job to be done half assed. You get what you pay for.

Same goes when I go grocery shopping. I expect, and to the most part receive better service when I go to a store that has unionized or well paid workers than when I go into Walmart and expect, and for the most part receive bare bones service.

And yet, there is always someone, generally of a lower caste, who is willing to step into the job, even if temporarily. Does that incriminate the Ground employer, or is it an affirmation of the myriad other employers who offer the same pay and are not receiving the same condemnation from you? As much as it pains me to agree with Itsy on anything, an employer has no obligation to offer any more than the least acceptable pay that will fill the position. That's why she needs illegal immigration to maintain her business. Since the dawn of the ability of one man to compensate another for work performed, people have uprooted their lives and sought a better one. The only other solution that has worked is collective bargaining, aka a Union. The same greed that is symbolic of the employer inevitably corrupts the union. Your solution is Socialism. Unless you are willing to subjugate yourself to the corruption that is Socialism, you should continue to grudgingly accept Capitalism as the best formula humans have invented.

You don't seem afraid to gladly hold your hand out to accept your latest COVID 19 relief check which is another government handout which proves conclusively that it is socialism in the purest. You just like Tex, any socialism based government program is fine if it benefits you but those that don't is the work of Satan himself.

BTW, did ERCOT get your power and water back on yet? Too bad it tied the hands of the national grid refusing to connect to it. It could have sent some extra power down your way to help keep everything from freezing up solid.
