I have to wonder about people like this guy. Did he not know or understand that every time the truck was filled with fuel that the mileage was recorded? Geeeez, this guy belongs on the stupid criminal list.

We fill our own fuel here, so it is up to the driver to accurately enter his mileage. The stupid part was that the mileage is recorded on the drivers timecard, and management can simply pull the records up on the computer. Its pretty blatant when every day your beginning miles are exactly 25 miles LESS than your ending miles from the day before.

Many years ago we had an extended area driver that was playing with his miles. Mon-Thurs he would save 8-10 miles a day from his odometer reading. If he actually ran 275 miles he would put it on the time card as 265. By friday he would leave all is RR stops in town and make up the lost mileage from the 36-50 miles he had saved all week so he wouldn't under dispatch for lack of miles. He, he got fired, came back and worked another two years and then quit.
