Fired for smoking weed at a party

So supervisors have been working like crazy in our building and I have decided to start grieving. They didn’t take to this kindly and I have had a target on my back. I’m honestly a great worker so I wasn’t worried. I’m a package loader and I consistently have the highest pph and I still follow all the safety methods. Despite this, my supervisor does not like me grieving as I suppose it messes up their production numbers, but I need the money and fair is fair

Long story short, I was at a party over the weekend and I was smoking a joint with some people. I smoke occasionally, absolutley never before work though, never have never will. Well, to my complete surprise my freaking supervisor ends up at the same party and sees me smoking the joint.

Well the following Monday at work, a supervisor pulls me aside and tells me to come to the office. The supervisor freaking lied and said they thought I was high at work and said I can either resign or pee in a cup. Again, I was not high at work, I absolutley do not smoke before work. The way these tests work though is the weed stays in your system for up to a month. It’s not like a breathalyzer where they can tell if your high at the moment, which would have exonerated me. Even a blood test isn’t accurate enough to show if you’re high at that moment

So does any one have any advice on this? Are there really no protections for me smoking a joint outside of work? I’m not driving vehicles, I’m not high at work, I know it’s not federally legal but it’s still legal in half the damn states, how is it any different from somebody drinking a beer after work?

And morals aside how you feel about weed, is there really no way to prove that this is pure retaliation and I wasn’t high at work?
Go get your medical marijuana card in 5 minutes and sue UPS for medical discrimination

If it’s illegal, don’t do it, period! You can get the same buzz from a beer. Just have a beer and leave that :censored2: alone and you can tell your supervisor to pound sand. Unfortunately they can drug test you whenever they want. It’s just not worth it.
Alcohol does not give you the same buzz as smoking pot. If it did, people wouldn't smoke it.

Never heard of dudes getting weed muscles after smoking to where you want to start fights with random dudes or beat the :censored2: out of you wife and kids.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

It’s true, once you get to a certain level with alcohol, especially liquor, that’s when fights start. With weed, you go to sleep. Lol

No, you just turn into a bumbling fool who laughs at everything he hears, the. You smoke so much that you fall asleep while driving at 3 o’clock in the morning and pancake your truck against a giant oak tree and don’t live to tell about it. Just don’t do stupid :censored2:, time to grow up.

No I peed because I was not high at work. I never have been. And you’re correct, all sups have to say is I look like it. And they lied. I do not smoke before work. I physically couldn’t, I’m not a heavy smoker, it wouldn’t be enjoyable for me and I would be worthless, I’m not that kind of person

And this is where you stand a chance to keep your job. You can admit to smoking on the weekend, but not before work.

The effects were already metabolized and you were not high at work 2 days after smoking a joint, even though the test came back positive. Did you get the results yet and were you terminated?

A decent BA could possibly get this resolved without a discharge.

It’s absolutely retaliation that’s the whole point

I forgot. You did put a big target on your back. Not that you shouldn’t file sups working grievances, but, if you’re going to poke the bear, you better have your crap in order.

It will be impossible to prove retaliation without a confession from a sup. But, a BA could push that issue and bluff labor, possibly keeping you working.
