Happy Labor Day

Boywondr

The truth never changes.
If you have Saturday ground they advance some of Mondays work.
We do not have Saturday routes
Wouldn't that violate the guaranteed delivery time?
No sir all they have to do is list it as a remote area and they hold it.
They held 40 cases of customized product for a golf outing on a Monday in our area listing it as a remote area and they delivered it on Tuesday to which it was rejected because the golf outing was the day before.

So are they holding trailers or certain stops? Seem marking a whole trailer as remote area would be kind of difficult to hide. How many routes are cut on your mondays?

10%. They can divert and cut routes until we are slammed on Tues. I saw it with my own eyes as a customer showed me their pkgs being held as "remote area". This isnt old news.
They love fudging numbers....
When you finally figure who you're working for (not the glossed over public image) you lose respect for the whole system and the people who approve actions like these.
Yet dishonesty (in the hourly ranks) is the biggest no no in this club according to the labor minions.

Lack of volume.

If you're a 90% employee and your route is cut on a Monday....

You can use your seniority to follow your work, or bump a junior employee.

If the Center(s) in your building or hub utilize Saturday ground; Lack of volume due to what? Due to Monday's previous resi volume being delivered on Saturday. Who will the RPCD bump? Bump a 22.4? NOPE Not possible.

Saturday ground equates to well over 1300 stops in our small center. This allows UPS to cut an additional 10-12 routes on Mondays in our center.

Sunday ground and the manipulation of volume by UPS will drastically impact the # of routes built on Mondays.

The Taylor, Hall, Hoffa "Teamsters" colluded with UPS to ensure that more routes can be cut on Mondays & Tuesdays. If the Hoffa, Hall, Taylor, Red Vested Slappies had fulfilled their duty of representation during contract negotiations; Every single RPCD would be guaranteed 40 hours.

Every UPS RPCD; let alone union reps or former union reps, understand that stops and pieces delivered on Saturday and Sunday instead of Monday will result in the 90% of drivers # working the 1st day of the RPCD week (Monday) being much lower.

The Union could not have been blindsided by this inevitability. The Hoffa, Hall, Taylor, etc. crew is not naïve. They are garbage.

This is what is happening.

A center in Clarksville consists of 60 RPCDs.

That center usually builds 50 or so routes on Mondays prior to Saturday ground. With the implementation of Saturday ground; that center cuts an additional 10 routes and builds only 40 routes on Mondays. Hence only 36 RPCDs (90%) are guaranteed 40 hours per week. While 100% of the 22.4 drivers are guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Sunday ground and the manipulation of volume by offering sizeable discounts to major shippers who agree to have the majority of their shipments delivered on Saturdays and Sundays will only exacerbate the route cutting.

The Union is not only culpable for this situation; the union is responsible for it.

Why; pray tell; wouldn't ALL Teamster leaders introduce language ensuring the company can not abuse and bastardize the language.

Somehow NORCAL protected 100% of it RPCDs the right to 40 hours per week.

NOT only guarantee 40 hours to the top seniority 90% of the RPCDs put to work on Mondays....but EVERY SINGLE RPCD the right to 40 hours.

Guaranteeing the right to bump onto a Saturday or Sunday in order to reach 40 hours was a no brainer.

It is unacceptable that the Red Vests and others did not secure this imperative language for ALL RPCDs.

Sure some drivers don't want to work Saturdays or Sundays. Heck; we all have to do things we don't want to do...but we have to do them anyway. The vast majority of RPCDs desire 40 hours per week. If the only way RPCDs could reach 40 hours is by being ALLOWED to work Saturdays and/or Sundays; Those RPCDs should absolutely have that right. There is no reason the Union did not afford RPCDs that right.

Now the only way any full time UPS driver (RPCD) can be guaranteed 40 hours is by bidding down to a 22.4 position.

Useless pieces of trash Taylor, Hall, Hoffa made sure a 40 hour guarantee for RPCDs was not a contractual right.

O'Brien was previously a red vester as well. O'Brien's tune has changed but only time will tell if O and Z walk the walk.

Anyone buy a new mattress?

The low seniority RPCDs may have to resort to selling mattresses as their 2nd job because they are only guaranteed 24 hours per week at UPS.

The 22.4s will need new mattresses and lube because they will be exhausted and stretched to the limit from being bonked in the keister by the Teamsters and UPS....with no contractual OT protections, no 9.5 rights and no 8 hour requests.

Some have suggested using a pillow on their Teamster leaders.

The bedding reference is spot on. Kudos

Poor thing. Bless your heart. The practice of "remoting", holding volume or advancing volume is commonplace.

Until UPS gets caught they will continue to act in a not forthright and dishonest manner. UPS will refuse to correct their improprieties until they are forced to. UPS can not be counted on to have integrity. UPS Settles Whistleblower Govt Contract Fraud Lawsuit: $25M

And then punish hourly employees afterward to pin the blame on anyone but management.

Got the T-Shirt
Volume held in the hubs cuts the routes on Monday. We've seen that first hand.

If that's the way UPS wants to treat their customers, oh well....

Why are you still prattling on with this conspiracy nonsense ?

Absolute BS.

and no 8 hour requests.

Where does the Central Region language say that ?

And now....

You are encouraging homicidal violence against the IBT leadership ?

Wow.

I knew it.

You work in some little podunk center....

It's in the master. No OT rights for 22.4S

please enlighten me as to where RPCDs who are laid off on M and T are guaranteed more than 24 hours.

You know it's piss poor language purposely written to guarantee ALL 22.4s 40 hours per week while having the right to only work RPCDs W Th friend. 8 hour guarantee x 3 days = 24 hours guaranteed for ALL RPCDS.

You just are too much of a coward to admit it.

How can RPCDs be laid off on Tuesday when the language says they can't be while 22.4s are working in the building?

"And"...it is telling.
But if driver rolls a pkg and gets caught it's a different issue to the company.
They'll screw the very people that pays their bills to screw the employees they hired.
But dont forget to "look for customers looking to defect to the competition". Sure.

The same customer we shafted on the Monday golf outing delivery was giving us a trailer load of pkgs to deliver to local hospital employees. May as well forget maintaining good customer relations. They're just a number too.
