...good riddance. They really do need to be put out of their misery.

Were the manual trucks really that bad? I came to UPS after my center switched to 100% automatic but sometimes I wish I had a stick truck. My route uses a P1000 w/ TP60 that occasionally gets brick-loaded full of hardware boxes. If the truck itself has a light load it can sometimes get the “tail wagging the dog” feel while stopping and it’d be nice to be able to downshift to slow down instead of having to just rely on juice brakes when roads are slick.

why can’t you downshift an automatic to help slow down?
