Is this normal at all centers?

hi everybody, just want to start off saying I've been with UPS 8 years, 4 years now as a driver...
Is it normal to be treated like this at most centers or is mine just this messed up?
When I want on the 9.5 list and ask for reduced hrs I basically get repremended or pulled off to the side and talked to the next day about my times.
One time I actually filed a grievance for lack of reduced hrs and the next day had my center manager ride with me a whole week... claiming it was an Orion ride along but critiqued and bitched about how I was doing things wrong. These are just a few examples of what I've gone through. I had put in for an 8 hr day two days ago and it was approved. They cut a route right before driver start time and I received most of the business and some resis which prior to that I was still going to be over 8 hrs and told management that. Halfway through the day I received this message maybe posted below, I worked 8 hrs and brought back 52 stops which I'm sure I'll be pulled into the office or have a ride along tmrw.... to be honest our center consists of about 32 routes and the whole place is basically a joke. I personally consider this harassment and am mentally drained at this point. And yes I work at a brisk safe pace and don't fool around. Was just looking for some feedback to maybe have things changed.

You need to file for harassment. That is straight up BS no one should be saying those things. Why did you bring stops back? You should have worked the hours and filed the 9.5 violation. Hit them where it hurts, take their money! Have you been documenting how bad your load is everyday as well?

I brought stops back because I exceeded my 8 hr day, I love being a part of a union but ours here at the center are very quite and reserved, reluctant to stand up to management until it involves them.

Be sure to correct the person who wrote the message. Should be "to" , not "too".

Has anyone else noticed how the English language is increasingly being murdered by our supposedly college educated managers and supervisors?

I could write better at the 9th grade level than many of our aspiring Hemingway managers.

I've stayed off the 9.5 list thus far and am being hosed with 12-13 hr days sometimes not even finishing and I'm an intown driver, I am reluctant to go on the list to avoid harassment and when I talked to a Stewart about this, there response was " yeah I could understand that"

Bring your "A" game son and file if you don't want the O T.

Honestly our management gets away with a lot of stuff, to much... they will even text us on our personal phone for explanations on why we still have this many stops left or why your to full for a certain pickup.. I'd like to hit them with harassment but would probably be shown the door pretty quick

That's why they are doing these things to you. You are letting them. Stand up for yourself man. They find the ones they can pick on and ride them like borrowed mules.
File on everything. 9.5 or 8 hour days you don't get.
Eventually they will leave you alone if they know you're not going to take it.

Someone on here said it best a long time ago, if you're a willing victim, expect to be victimized.

Been around the block a few times
File on everything.

So can you file a grievance when management does not adhere to an agreement for requested 11 hour daily dispatch? There is not enough work in the loop to run the amount of routes that are dispatched at the work level that certain drivers have requested.

Yup. Perfectly normal. Once you opt into the 9.5 the harassment begins. Follow methods and work safely and you'll have no problem. Don't expect that bullseye to go away anytime soon. It's not right that they do it, but it is what it is

What I've experienced with filing 9.5 is cross your T's and dot your eyes because if your back yard is dirty, your grievances won't go past your BAs... Get to know the methods... Know them well! They will help you in all of this... Hope it works out and good luck.

And let them come out with you... Whatever they say make sure you tell them what's going on and if there are thinks that can help your day....IE: a better load setup, bulk stops moved whatever let them know. They will try to blame you for not getting done, that is their job but don't let them take you down that road. Look for an area that is easy that they can take off and not screw your business customers like that subdivision at the end of your route... Most importantly don't let them treat you like sht...stand up for yourself... You are probably doing more than many people in this company.

Thank you for your responses, our center is quite embarrassing. I over heard our dispatcher this morning say "we aren't delivering Air today because we are to busy!!!!
