Funny part is that President Dementia took a victory lap over helping to broker this deal.
8 of the 12 individual unions voted to accept the deal outright. Now the vote to enforce the contract was 290-137 out of the 290 79 were Republicans. Which meant that without GOP support the measure would have failed.

So now we move onto UPS/ Teamsters. Will they settle without a strike? Will Congress and the WH get involved in it? Or will they do a Joe Cool and just simply stay out of it?

If you there in your mom's basement think that this will have zero impact on Fat Freddy...think again.
The Teamsters might come to the conclusion that it's time to settle the score with old Fat Freddy. And should there be a settlement ahead of a strike with a fat new pay and benefit plan that puts even more distance between what UPS workers get and what Fat Freddy's paying and an even bigger distance between UPS Teamsters and Ground contractor employed drivers even more discord might be in the works over at X.

Media interviews from railway unions officials was that the number of sick days or the lack there of was what sunk the deal.
The republicans in the senate shot down the provision giving them the sick days and then a mostly bi-partisan senate passed the bill forcing the contract. This was a very close union vote, and let’s face it most of these type union men don’t vote for democrats anyway so screw em. Go read the Brown forum and see how they vote, I bet the rank and file teamsters are split 50/50 or 60/40 vote Republican anymore.

Yes a lot of people recognize that neither party cares about unions so they don't base their vote on that issue.

I’m very disappointed in Biden, I really believed he was a union supporter. Talk is cheap

I'm not surprised. Biden is a habitual liar. It goes all the way throughout his political career. In 1988 he was caught lying when running for president saying he graduated in like the top 5% of his law school class, but was actually the bottom 10%. Biden says he's pro-union, but I guarantee you if Biden owned a factory, he'd be the biggest anti-union guy you've ever seen. He'd make Fred look like he's pro-union. Biden is all talk. He's supposedly pro-union because it's not his company that has to deal with them. I hope people finally realize the Democrats are no more pro-union than the Republicans. It's all talk. I think Trump was more friendly to unions than Biden. Trump had a lot of union workers who supported him.

Yes a lot of people recognize that neither party cares about unions so they don't base their vote on that issue.

There are still a lot of "one issue voters" out there. Women wanting abortion rights is one group. Also, I have a buddy who is an electrician and in a union, but he's also pro-gun. He's a gun nut, but he votes Democrat because he's in a union. But there are also a lot of union workers (like what someone said over on the UPS page) who are in the union, but don't vote Democrat. They own guns and know voting Democrat is voting to take away their gun rights. They also know voting Democrat means putting LGBTQ people in an almost God like status above everyone else and they don't agree with that. They also know voting Democrat means opening up the flood gates of illegal aliens to come up here to take American jobs. They also know voting Democrat means even more race based vitriol aimed at them. That's why they're in the union, but vote Republican. The union isn't their only voting issue.

And the Teamsters can count on the same “support” next year too. They all forgot who got them their rights. The attitude has been we got our high pay, great benefits and pensions, vote red so no welfare for poor people. Mess around and find out.

Ancient history becomes immaterial when your friends become your enemy by turning their backs on you when you’re standing up for yourself.
