FDR saved the country from the Depression created by Republican policies. The programs he spawned prevented us from becoming a Third World has-been.

No no, FDR managed the depression for a decade. He didn't save us from anything, and he certainly didn't cure the depression. And he was a racist, so naturally progressives are a fan of him.

Roosevelt provided ships and supplies to England before we got in. And we got in after we were attacked by Japan. Which has it's parallel today in that we didn't invade Iraq and Afghanistan until after we were attacked on 9/11. We can argue about invading Iraq but fact is Hussein was in direct violation of, if I remember right, 17 U.N. sanctions. He was the major catalyst of our invasion as he numerous times pushed the narrative that he had weapons of mass destruction and was a major supporter of suicide bombers in Israel. But I digress. If you are implying we had no business getting involved in WWII you have been brainwashed. Whatever you think of America the fact remains that the evil that was being done by the Nazis and Imperial Japan had to be stopped. 100,000,000 died in that war, a million Americans among them. That generation understood sacrifice and honor, attributes that seem in short supply these days. The Nazis in particular demonstrated what modern technology in the wrong hands could do. We stood up to the Soviet Union for the same reason, and must overcome radical Islam before it too requires vast armies and resources to defeat it. The Michael Moore's of the world make a very good living getting naive kids to believe that America is the problem. Unfortunately this poison has infected our universities and our press. Go to France and look at the military cemeteries full of those who understood what was at stake and gave their lives defending it. Something that the namby pambies trying to tear down America just don't get.
i think america has also demostrated what modern technology in the wrong hands can do. george lucas based the empire in star wars on the american empire invading vietnam.

wasnt sadam hussein an ally of the americans in the decades before? iraq was a criminal war of aggression based on lies. america broke a ton of international laws by doing that war. and they wasted alot of lives over some oil.

i remember reading something about america recruiting the nazis after the war for south america.

america had sanctions on japan (an act of war) before they attacked you.

based on the people i listen to, and what makes them moral and reputable or not.
Ok... So let me get this right. The people YOU listen to tell you YOU'RE more right than other people based on what YOU think makes them moral and reputable? Got it...

sure. i listen to noam chomsky, cornel west, chris hedges, ralph nader, richard wolff for starters. theres a long list of moral voices out there and they usually refer to each other so you can triangulate your opinion. quite often they say the same thing.

usually you can tell when someone is lying by either privilege and power OR truth and justice but not both. 1 or the other typically. my guys dont take corporate money for advertisements.

you can just start off on simple topics like student debt which you know what the answer is and if they agree you go from there onto more complex topics where you dont really know what the answer is, but can trust them and listen to a variety of opinions to figure out what the truth might be.

who do you listen to?

America had sanctions on Japan? Do you have any idea what Japan was doing in East Asia and the Western Pacific? The 20 million Chinese killed in the 30's and 40's by Japan? The Rape of Nanking? The 90,000+ Korean and Filipina women forced into sex slavery to service the Japanese army? Oh my, we had sanctions, we deserved to be attacked by the sweet little Japanese who never harmed anyone! Saddam Hussein was Iran's enemy and had a war against them where more than a million were killed. Iran was our enemy too, and we supported him. But things changed, he got out of control, and we had the U.N's support to invade. No criminal invasion as you say. Does America do everything right? Highly doubtful. But we're also at the forefront of economic aid, disaster relief, technology development that improves lives. If you can't see that, if you think all these other countries are righteous while we're the embodiment of evil, your mind is poisoned.

Besides being a shill, you're also a GOP tool.
FDR prolonged the Depression with his policies. He also interred Japanese-Americans in concentration camps. It's also believed he sold out Eastern Europe to Stalin at Yalta.

Cite his sources. We definitely have issues but Europe's socialism is cracking at the seams. The U.K.'s exit most likely not the only one. And much of our military spending is to protect Europe and Asia from Russia and China. I believe it was Will Rogers who said there are "Liars, damn liars, and statisticians." And your post doesn't defend your suggestion that America had it coming in WWII.

Maybe your buddy Milton Friedman's fantasy of a zero interest rate policy and bond buying would have saved us from the depression, with a little helicopter money sprinkled in too.. oh wait that doesn't work either..The glass-steagall legislation was one good thing FDR signed, however the centralization of government under him I don't agree with..

A chicken hawk is a person that knows who won a war??

A chicken hawk is one that wants armed conflict when he risks no harm to himself.

By the way, the United States of America would not exist in its present form if it were not for France, or did they not teach history when you were a school boy??

yea immigration not the big deal people make it out to be.

i dont dispute america as a whole is better than south america. but thats relative. i wouldnt want to move to america because you guys are very conservative (and afraid of good change) and your healthcare system is awful. if the immigrants were really smart they would move to EU. but because we live in a capitalist / government system where they keep us dumbed down, most people don't know what the standard of living is like in other developed countries.

like i guarantee you alot of americans dont know that almost every other developed countries guarantee workers at least 4 weeks paid vacation per year or more.
