Interesting.

I use several religious and spiritual texts, of which the Bible is one, that I refer to and use as guidebooks.

I find they do aid me in my religious and spiritual life and my relationship with God.
That’s great and if it works for you, I don’t really care let’s get back to the crux of this thread. Why did you make this thread only to question SBC and what they feel is their interpretation of the Holy Spirit? Do you think yours is better t what they feel is there interpretation of the Holy Spirit? Do you think yours is better or correct and how do you judge that who made you judge? I think they have millions of members so well just let them do their thing.

Thanks.
Ok.
Why did you make this thread only to question SBC and what they feel is their interpretation of the Holy Spirit?
I made the thread to post a current event.

I also made the thread to express that I disagree with this decision and to offer others the opportunity to share whether they agree or disagree.

IMO others made this thread much more complicated.(Thank you for the entertainment)

I made no comments questioning the decision or the SBC’s reasons for the decision in the original post. Your statement is not accurate.

I have spent much time responding to what IMO are posts from individuals who seem to be more interested in written code or the letter of the law and not to the Spirit of God. But I affirm their right to believe this way,

Do you think yours is better t what they feel is their interpretation of the Holy Spirit?
No.
Do you think yours is better or correct and how do you judge that who made you judge?
I judge no man.
I think they have millions of members so well just let them do their thing.
Ok.

Do you agree with the decision that the SBC made as it was posted in the current event that was posted in this thread?

I think I’ve reiterated many times who cares what you think about what another organization does? Same with my opinion. I don’t have an opinion because I don’t care. My involvement with this thread was to point out that you have piety for no reason. You don’t have a moral or theological compass, that anyone could understand or stick to if it works for you that’s great.

I care.

That is your right.

Not sure if this point landed. I didn’t get it at least.

Sorry you don’t understand, thanks, it does work for me.

Not the way I see it.
It's not just this thread. In past threads you ask questions and very rarely give direct answers to questions asked of you. And usually those threads involve you being a bit sanctimonious as if you have the market cornered on virtue. The whole point of this thread is you being disturbed that a religious denomination would separate itself from a congregation with a female pastor. You said it was oppression and suppression. Doesn't matter what they believe and rather than look at the scriptures that they are trying to follow you dismiss the writers of those scriptures as fallible men that you are free to disagree with. If that's how you feel then by all means associate with others who feel the same way. But to characterize sincerely held beliefs as wrong because they aren't what you believe and thus they are wrong and you're right says to me that you're just as rigid in your beliefs as you believe them to be. And of course you'll come back with a denial because you think you are entirely right and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong. I was raised in a family of preachers who believed that they were entirely right about everything and because I disagree with them on some things I'm totally suspect about everything. I would encourage anyone who claims Christianity to study the Bible and learn God's plan for Man. And Woman.

I gave my direct opinion, I said I disagreed.

I don’t recall you ever rendering a direct opinion.

Never said they were wrong just stated my opinion.

In my opinion you handled and replied to the original post in a very poor manner. Although I may be wrong that is my opinion of your response.

If not, same old same old. Sorry.

You said it was oppression and suppression. How are we to take it other than the SBC is wrong?
You are mistaken I made no reference to SBC decision in this way.

I used these terms only after you spoke in Bible verse when you arbitrarily cited
1 Corinthians 14:35.

Those terms I used only in response to your reply not the SBC decision.

I didn't arbitrarily do anything. You didn't like SBC's decision so I pointed to the Bible verse that guided their decision.

I disagree.

And you know this how?

Please provide proof that this is the Bible verse that guided the SBC decision.
