Yikes. We’ve been asking you this the whole time in this thread. LOL thank you for finally figuring it out.
IkrYikes.
I'm very familiar with the Baptist Church. And they are very Bible based. Do you think they aren't aware of that verse? Seriously?I disagree.
And you know this how?
Please provide proof that this is the Bible verse that guided the SBC decision.
It’s all available for him to see he just doesn’t want to because he enjoys what he does.I'm very familiar with the Baptist Church. And they are very Bible based. Do you think they aren't aware of that verse? Seriously?
Logic like that should end any further argument. Despite what someone might want to believe. So a church decided they didn't believe the same fundamental tenets as the Southern Baptist Convention that they were a part of.
Instead of simply choosing to not be a part of the SBC, they chose to act contrary to the beliefs of the group, and then whine that SBC should change to accommodate them.
Why am I not surprised this megachurch is in California?
We have been saying that to him for about 300 posts but he ignores anything he doesn't want to hear. It’s all available for him to see he just doesn’t want to because he enjoys what he does.

Right especially when the group in question, at least has some doctrinal basis for what they believe instead of just what they “feel”Logic like that should end any further argument. Despite what someone might want to believe.
I don’t understandWe have been saying that to him for about 300 posts but he ignores anything he doesn't want to hear.
The SBC has it in writing that member churches agree to adhere to. Saddleback was warned and when they continued to disobey they got kicked out.Right especially when the group in question, at least has some doctrinal basis for what they believe instead of just what they “feel”
No women pastors in a baptist church. If they have them, avoid those churches. It’s all available for him to see he just doesn’t want to because he enjoys what he does.

“Southern Baptists believe the place to begin in this, as in all doctrinal questions, is to ask, "What does the Bible say?" Even a cursory reading of the pertinent texts prompts three important observations: 1) there were no known women pastors in New Testament times; 2) none of the instructions regarding church order include instructions for women pastors; and 3) some texts on church order explicitly forbid women to occupy that role. In 1 Timothy 2:12, written with the specific purpose of regulating the office of pastor and the orderly function of the churches, Paul writes, "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man" (NIV). Paul does not expect that women will not or cannot learn or teach (compare with Titus 2:3-5 and 2 Tim. 1:5; 3:14,15). He concludes women cannot have a pastoral position, or perform the pastoral function, for that puts them in authority over men in the life of the church.”
Depends, what do they look like?No women pastors in a baptist church. If they have them, avoid those churches.
This does and says nothing to provide proof that this is the Bible verse that guided the SBC decision.I'm very familiar with the Baptist Church. And they are very Bible based. Do you think they aren't aware of that verse? Seriously?
So unless I get a quote from them you'll doubt that their religious beliefs were the basis of their decision? This does and says nothing to provide proof that this is the Bible verse that guided the SBC decision.
Sounds like a typical problem of megachurches.... Egotistical pastor with a god complex.SBC's Executive Committee Chairman Jared Wellman said in a statement to Baptist Press that the disaffiliations came because of “the churches continuing to have a female functioning in the office of pastor.”
“As stated in the Baptist Faith and Message Article VI, the SBC holds to the belief that the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture,” stated Wellman. “These churches have been valued, cooperating churches for many years, and this decision was not made lightly. However, we remain committed to upholding the theological convictions of the SBC and maintaining unity among its cooperating churches.”

The head pastor of this church appointed his own wife as a pastor. He thinks he knows better than the SBC, and that he and his family are better than them and the bible itself. Ego.
