Confusion at Big Brown: contract rejected, but union says it's ratified; UPS appears mystified
    From the article:

This statement appears to have caught UPS off guard. Early Friday evening, UPS said of the day's developments: "We are disappointed the Small Package and Freight tentative agreements were not ratified."

But after the Teamsters came out with its declaration that the Small Package deal was in fact ratified through a provision in the union's constitution, UPS put out a second statement. But what UPS said was far from a victory lap that it had a deal. "UPS has reviewed the Teamsters website statement and will meet with the Teamsters leadership in the near future to discuss next steps regarding the national and local agreements," the UPS statement said.

    From the UPS Pressroom:

UPS Committed to Securing an Agreement

    US 10/05/18

    Atlanta

We are disappointed the Small Package and Freight tentative agreements were not ratified. The Teamsters’ negotiating committee and UPS developed fair agreements that reward UPS employees for their contributions to the company’s success, including improved wages, benefits and job creation. A contract extension is in place and UPS expects to operate on a business-as-usual basis. UPS will meet with Teamsters leadership in the near future to discuss next steps.

Just trying to establish a timeline indicating UPS initially did not consider it ratified.

Change the 22.4 language. Make it a blank page for coloring instead.

The respective reactions from the Teamsters and from UPS are telling.
Shows who is who. Apparently all along management were the good guys and the union were the bad guys.

Our BA says adjustments to 22.4’s, and further part time pay increases, it passes.

  8. Apparently the union is ramming the contract through so I don't see any additional pay increases.

The master has passed. Now it’s time to play the supplement game. Unless you are in the eastern region. Then you are stuck with how it is.

    - Bring 22.4 number to max 10% of the route existed to relief excessive o/t but eliminate o/t to everyone
    - no 2 tier wages
    - 15 minimum staring wages
    - no advance work from Monday to Sunday
    - All ft drivers to have uniform start time

    We might be able to
Do this where the supplements were voted down. In the east they don’t have that choice. At least they have those part time feeder drivers.

Please get your verbiage correct. The TA did not pass at all. Rather, it was ratified strictly by IBT constitutional rule.

Huge difference. Especially to those that took the time to vote.

Why should anyone in future contract voting take the time to vote?
It is quite apparent that our votes do not count when there are agendas in place.
If a 2/3 majority is needed of those votes cast, it should play both ways. 2/3 to pass 2/3 to fail.
Once part time union employees are factored out(because we all know that the majority of them do not care about contracts as they rarely make it through 2 consecutive contracts) the percentages are well above 50 %.
