“We are disappointed the small package and freight tentative agreements were not ratified, as well as the supplemental agreements that cover our local workers," UPS said in a statement. "The Teamsters’ negotiating committee and UPS developed fair agreements that reward UPS employees for their contributions to the company’s success, including improved wages, benefits and job creation. A contract extension is in place, and UPS expects to operate on a business-as-usual basis. UPS will meet with Teamsters leadership in the near future to discuss next steps.”

UPS will say anything so the bottom doesn't drop out of the stock. They'll say they are open to talking so no volume goes anywhere, keep the status quo. Let the union push it through. Collusion at it's finest.

This member, @Package Car Driver, says he might be able to pull up a cached version of the website if you provide a link to UPSers.com in your history when you saw the original story of the contract being rejected.

Who really cares what they said?

They saw the vote total and went into damage control reassuring their customers that it was still business as usual, not knowing if Hoffa was going to invoke the IBT Constitution.

Some of you actually think a screen cap of a statement is going to mean anything?

Wait Mr Hoffa, you can't impose the contract because I have a statement from a UPS website saying it did not pass and they will contact the Teamsters to figure out the next step.

I think what they're saying is that the company changed their website pretty fast and that shows communication between the Union and company. And, that that shows an intent to direct the stock price in the upward direction.

The issue is Hoffa says he has to impose the contract because it was the final offer.

But the company releases a statement saying they're going to renegotiate another offer.... Interesting use of the word final

You mean they are not going to "close shop"..all those yes voters can now breath a sigh of relief..your worst fears never can into being.

We can guess who will have the upper hand when they discuss the next steps..

Everyone of us in this world should be concerned with the "god of the stock market". If you are unaware of how dependent your economy and future is tied to "this paper god" then I recommend you educate yourself on this fact of our existence.

Then you may want to consult your own conscience, possibly coming to an honest admission as to where you personally contribute to the problems in this life and not the solutions.
