Think that the 1% was maybe a lie? Fred never lies.
Don't know about you, but our Volume has been steady and almost no noticeable change from when we dropped Amazon, YOY we are about 20% heavier this peak than last.
BTW the 1% was revenue, not volume, we had plenty of volume but we weren't making enough $$ off it.

It was way more than 1% or obviously the numbers would not be so bad, look at UPS air way up. Fred can’t stop lying it’s who he is.

Exactly. Fred lied about the amount of revenue Amazon was creating, and had lied for years saying "they weren't a competitor". He has admitted they are a competitor, and has once again been proven to be a bold-faced liar in general.

Like Trump, you can't trust what The Weasel is saying.

Our station had more stops this year than last. Didn’t notice Amazons absence

I bought into the rumor mill of diverting freight to ground more than a time or two. But the strategy of ground increasing shipping rates and express cutting customers deals on 2 & 3 day shipping rates seems to be mentioned as well.

California’s new law outlawing independent contractors has probably put FedEx on hold expect the stock to be punished further.

Looks like they decided holding off on announcing the layoffs of some pilots and the combining of the Express and ground operations.

It will be fine

That article doesn't specify which "independent" truckers are exempt and ground drivers are employees not independent.
The article is referring to single owner operators. Ground drivers are employees of independent contractors. I don’t see why anyone that contracts with Fedex would challenge their status anymore. It’s well worn territory and they would only stand to lose a bunch of money if they’re successful.

The article is about exempting independent truckers. The law had to do with independent contractors.

In essence, as far as the trucking industry goes, the US doesn’t really value blue collar labor.

Most of the contractor/employee suits have been settled. I do expect to see a pretty strong enforcement action taken when it comes to wage, hour. overtime service hours, etc given all the horror stories I've heard and read about that occurred during this past peak season .

Going forward the carrier that will be the winner in this game is the one who can remove the largest amount of human involvement in the transportation process and can be the first to do it. Given the barge loads of money being spent in the attempt to accomplish that goal it could completely transform and change the face of the entire industry and may get here sooner than you think. it's all a question of money and technology and who has more of it.
