What you just said requires it to process what happened in the past.. if I grab a drink more then 30 seconds then it will trigger a distracted. please explain how your way of thinking works. How would it know if I had a drink in my hand for 30 seconds?

It can do all that without recording video. The only question that remains is UPS actually recording the video and not telling us. That would be illegal in most States. UPS would not take that risk.

Capture risky driving without recording in-cab video

Lytx® Risk ID Without Recording helps you protect your fleet against distracted driving with a configurable option that allows fleet managers to take advantage of AI-powered risk detection without recording the inside view of the vehicle. It is part of Lytx’s set of driver-centric tools that can help improve fleet safety management and performance – quickly, efficiently, and easily.

Detect and manage distracted driving

Managing distractions is critical to safe fleet operation, but there are situations that might call for different camera lens configuration options. Using Lytx’s ultra-precise machine vision and artificial intelligence (MV+AI), the DriveCam Event Recorder can detect patterns of distracted or unwanted driving behaviors inside the cab without recording video of the driver. This enables the proactive capture of designated in-cab driving behaviors -- using a handheld device, improper seat belt use, inattentive driving, smoking, or eating and drinking -- without having inside-lens footage stored on the device.

Article 18 section 26. Says the video in the building, and explains the sign.

Article 18 does not ban cameras in package cars or tractors.

You are right. It used to be under technology, but damn I need to start keeping track of stuff that was removed.

Correct. The new camera technology falls under Article 6. UPS says they can do it, the Union says they can't, under Article 6.

That is why it is going to arbitration.

Maybe you need to brush up on the entire contract, just saying.

Look back on old contract under technology. It was removed. I'd be curious to know if everyone was told it was removed..

Was never there. The NMUPSA never banned cameras.

We finally got a technological change clause inserted into the 2002-2008 contract.

In the 2008-2013 contract, we got a no discharge clause inserted. No employee shall be discharged on a first offense if such discharge is based solely upon information received from GPS or any successor system unless he/she engages in dishonesty

In the 2013-2018 contract, we got a separate section for Technology and Discipline inserted into the contract.

Funny that in the 1950s when they were trying to create a network of computers to connect people, they thought it would be to spread peace, love, and prosperity as well as knowledge, and human rights, across the globe. Instead we got Twitter and porn

It would have been a great idea except they forgot one thing

Human nature

My on road might work 12 hrs a week and that's no joke. As long as he leaves me alone I don't care. It's ups money being pissed away but they have plenty.

Don't block the sensor...You can't mess with THEIR equipment.
But your own sunglasses, well you can protect your eyes from I.R. beams...
The benefit is that "events" will not be triggered, so no recording of body triggered "events".
If the camera cant find your retinas, it can't find your face and body.
I have a pair, they work.
