We work for a corporation that is self-insured. This year our employer is increasing premiums, increasing deductibles, increasing out of pocket maximums and converting over to a consumer driven healthcare plan. The result is that the employees will have to pay a larger portion of healthcare costs throughout the year coupled with higher premiums. We have also previously lost the employee/spouse coverage option and are forced to use the employee/family option (which is more expensive) even if we don't have any children. The Affordable Care Act is being used by corporations to increase the employee's cost for healthcare while reducing or limiting the amount of coverage in order to keep its plan below Cadillac Plan status. This law is nothing more than a handout to insurance companies, a bailout for big corporations and a Mandated Tax on every American citizen. This law has done NOTHING to address the real problem with healthcare which is the COST. The Affordable Care Act is yet another transfer of wealth from the American citizens to the large corporations, insurance companies and large multi-national BANKS that lobbied for it.
