But we both know a little scruff is sexy. Many companies like men to be clean shaven because it gives a more professional appearance. It is what it is.
I still don’t understand the policy at all. Like it’s a natural thing , that most people prefer. It’s like saying you can’t wear your hat backwards. What does wearing your hat backwards have to do with anything relating to your job
I love the feel and smell of a freshly shaved face. But we both know a little scruff is sexy.
Anything else you prefer shaved?I love the feel and smell of a freshly shaved face.![]()
Nah. Au naturale.Anything else you prefer shaved?

alright, so up until the point where I was hired as a part-time supervisor I have never shaved my beard, but to get straight to the point , I got a doctors note. After getting my note I brought it to my gateway manager, and he tells me I would have to work the same position (part- time supervisor) at our local hub.
Or I can shave and continue working at my current position. Going through this little situation, I was just curious to know the no shave policy for management.
Not to mention I work in operations, and come in no contact with any customers.
all seems pretty far fetched to me so not really@Brownslave688 you gotta be happy about Greitens getting indicted.
I’m assuming you live in Missouri since you’re in local 688? Id be happy that my anti union Governor was indicted, nothing far fetched about allegations either.all seems pretty far fetched to me so not really
incorrectThe only safety gear that would require shaving is scba, and even then you only have to shave your neck. If you are not a designated responder, the scba issue doesn't apply.
I just like to have a life outside UPS. I'd be down for 9-5 but UPS doesn't have 8 hour shifts, they have "8 hours" "work" shifts. So that's 8 hours work, 1 hour lunch, 30 min break and you're already at a 9.5 day, guaranteed 1.5 hrs overtime. "Here, take my money!... We don't have any money for that". And I'm sure we all know "8 hours" work rarely is 8 hours but more like 9, because minimum stop counts are just a myth as well as max because every day is "extenuating circumstances" that require max +5 to 10 stops, you know because that new guy they hired just quit because he's tired of busting his balls for 10.5 hrs a day with supervisors watching them on telematics raging about why that pickup/delivery is taking too long, because you know UPS is the only company that shipping/receiving department have to do business with.Oh great--another one afraid of work.
