Interesting Article About Teamsters Pension For All The Haters

I just want to make friends!
Defined contribution plans put all the risk on the employee, which is why corporations love them. Throw a couple of bucks the employees way and if the economy tanks, they get to wipe their hands of it.

If the economy tanks under a defined benefit plan, they still get to wipe their hands of it.

Hogwash. The 401k is an excellent source for your primary income. You get 3.5% free money with the match and reduce taxes up to 15 to 20%. My pension will give me a decent income but my 401k will allow me to withdraw between 3500 to 4000 a month for over 30 years and still leave money to my kids.
Really? You're going to withdraw $42k to $48k a year for thirty years? There are limits on what you can contribute now, how will you accomplish such a feat Mr. Millionaire?

Tell us all about how great the PPA is when compared to a Teamster pension...please? My favorite example is my friend Ken, who works for a private, quite specialized Teamster company. For every hour, including OT, his company pays $7 and change into his Teamster pension. Ken currently makes $37 per hour, and he just signed a new contract that will bring him up to almost $42 per hour in 2020. Oh, and he has superb medical for which he pays NOTHING.

Back to our pension. If you recall, The Weasel killed the Traditional Plan when the passenger airlines were killing their pensions and screwing their employees. Look at the airlines now...record profits, and those pensions? Gone or greatly reduced. It had zero to do with pension costs, and a lot to do with poor management and high Jet-A.

Our beloved Weasel, who was still enjoying strong profits in 2004 and building Ground infrastructure with them, used the opportunity presented by the other "airlines" killing their pensions to kill ours...even though there was zero justification for doing so.

You and the smelly old fart are both spreading your manure as widely as possible. Very few seem interested in your lies.

Use the calculator I posted. Savings Withdrawal Calculator 850 to 900k drawing 3.5% yearly will allow you to pull out 4k a month for 28 to 30 years and still have money left after 30 years. Been averaging 7.5% but will go more conservative so I believe 3.5% is obtainable. I am sorry you can't do math above counting with your fingers and toes. That is why I included the easy to use calculator. You are ALMOST as ignorant as MFE. That is why I included these calculators. Like I said, I deal in FACTS. You deal in hatred and misery. FACTS kill every one of your misery filled post because your post are all the opinion of a ignorant person filled with hatred.

That is a BIG lie. You can't have any friends. Well, normal friends anyway. Normal people don't like miserable people.

No use replying to him. He got his and that's all that matters. He claims he will retire comfortably and there is no proof he's lying. He doesn't care that there are those who work for this company who can barely afford to get to work, let alone save for their retirement.

He matters more than those people because he deserves it and they don't.

There's no proof he's telling the truth either. This is the internet, so it must be true.

Once again. Hard work and sacrifice. 2 things you can't comprehend. You do those 2 things your entire work career and you will reap the benefits when you retire.

More like luck. You were lucky to be hired when you were. You lucked into getting a pension as opposed to a defined contribution plan. You lucked into getting topped out in 14 months as opposed to never.

Again, you don't care because you got yours. Meanwhile, you can't wrap your head around why people speak poorly of the company you hold in such high regard.

Spoken like a classic boomer. That's not how it works now. Pull your head out of the sand and look around. Blue collar workers starting today have no retirement to look forward to regardless of how hard they work. The productivity gains all go to the top executives not the workforce.

My post are backed up by FACTS. Easy to fact check.
... And mine are what? Do you deny that you've been topped out 99.9% of your career while the rest of us will probably never see top out? Do you deny that you were lucky to start when you did or would you like to tell us that had you started post 2003, you'd have the same opinion as you do now?

I know plenty of guys and gals who have worked their asses off for this company. Your good fortune has little to do with hard work and most to do with luck.
